They throw me into the van that they had parked down the street. I wasn't the only one in the van. A girl helps me up and I sit next to her sobbing. She rubs my back softly. The doors up front slam shut and a rusty old engine starts. The man driving slams his foot on the gas and I fly against the boy next to me on my right. He looks down at me and I look up at him. His eyes are a dark electric blue, and dark brown hair shades over his left one. Dark freckles run over his nose and onto both cheeks. He's cute. "Stare much doll?" He asks, his teeth are shinning even when there is no light. I blush a little and get up off his shoulder. The girl taps my shoulder. I snap my head in her direction.

"Don't mind me brother, ye should know he'll break yer heart." She says with a pirate voice. Her brother glares at her and I feel a pang in my chest. I no longer had a brother. I find myself looking down at the van's bed. I had nothing, no family, no belonging, and no friends. We could all be executed in an instant.  The girl rests her hand on my own. "What's wrong lass?" She asks.

"They killed my mother, father, and brother." I say sadly, all my tears are lost. The girl squeezes my hands tighter together.

"Well I'm Lil short fer Lilly. This is me big brother Daniel, he goes by Danny." She says. I smile. Danny scowls. I flinch and clear my throat.

"I'm Tessa,Tess or Tessie." I state.

"I'll call ye Tessie." She claims, I giggle. Even at times such as this she can still have humor.

"Do you naturally have the accent?" I ask, I was naturally British like my brother. Lil nods yes.

"Yes I'm like a pirate although I ain't. And--" she is interrupted by Danny.

"And I'm Australian mate." He says flatly looking at me with coldness. Now that I think about it I used to see these two in the halls of my high school. Girls' would fawn over Danny but he would break their hearts by ignoring them. His sister would always scold him. I sigh softly.

"I'm British. So we three have accents." I sigh something doesn't add up.

"So does that mean that ye are intelligent?" Lil asks.

"I guess so..." I trail off. The sound of gravel fills my ears. We are nearing something I can tell because of the slow pace. Suddenly it hits me. British were known for intelligence, Australians' were known for nobility, and pirates' were known for cleverness. I grin to myself as we come to a stop, the doors open and they grab Danny, me, and Lilly and drag us inside a large prison. We stop in front of a desk a lady looks at the three of us. Her face is twisted and weird. Like a witch.

"Take them to cell block A, cell 90." I partially ignore the woman and look around. I guess they weren't kidding about 5 star. It's like a modern Alcatraz with white halls and thick metal bars on the cells' but larger and more protected. Kids are staring at us as we pass. Three to each cell is what I count all the way down the hall. At the end of the hall is a cell just like the others. Why were they jailing us? We had done nothing wrong. They put us in.

"Why--" I start.

"It's because we break rules mate." Danny answers. Did he-- no it's impossible! "All the kids in here have a talent mate. Mine is telepathy." He says proudly. I could tell he hates me. Lil looks at me. At least my question was answered.

"Tessie, ye may not believe what he are tellin' ye but it is true." She says shaking her head.

"Prove it then." I say glaring at Danny. He closes his eyes.

'Do you believe me now miss Tessa?' His voice is clear in my head. He's gloating a lot more than I expected.

"Aye, me talent is speed," Lil says running at amazing speeds around the room. I giggle as she slows to a stop at the right of her brother.

"I'll figure mine out soon." I say timidly. My feet lead me around the room. My body was exhausted but my brain was alert. Three beds were in the room. I chose the one across the large room while Lil and Danny take the beds next to each other. The air in the room is cold and damp. I shiver. No blankets or pillows, just a mattress. I lay down facing the wall but I can't stop shivering and feeling lost. I hear whispering from across the room but I can't hear. Footsteps sound from behind me.

"Scoot over." Danny growls angrily. I press against the wall. 'Jeez how do girls like him?!'  I yell in my head. Danny lays down his back to mine.

'Don't test me' Oops I forgot to think alone not freely.

'Why would I want to?'  I challenge. He is silent for a moment.

'Pervert .'  I gasp and glare at the wall.

'Jerk' I respond.

'Cat'

'Dog'

'Bitch' I gasp and sit up. His sister is snoring.

"You take that back!" I shout in a whisper.

"Make me Hun." He has a smirk on his face. I resist the urge to slap it off.

'Asshole!' I yell at him in my head. His smirk turns into a scowl. I smirk in triumph. He sits up and slaps me. I yelp and get up,then I walk to the top left corner of the room and sit down with my back in the corner. Danny looks hurt at what he did. I keep a blank face and look at his sleeping sister, my right cheek is burning and throbbing. I wasn't going near Danny for a while. I close my eyes, and despite having a warm cheek I'm still shivering violently. I just start to drift off when I get picked up, I act as though I were asleep. My carrier sits down and leans against a wall.

"If you can hear me I'd like to say that I am sorry for hitting you." He says as his warm fingers touch where he slapped me. "I want to know you if that makes you feel better. I just don't know how to approach you..." I can't hear what he says next darkness takes me quickly.
