Music filled the chaotic room as a girl with brown hair made her way over to a boy, that happened to be on the other side. The room was quite crowded, causing her to bump into people, which earned her a few dirty looks. She ignored them as she continued to make her way through. Finally, she saw the boy. He was on the couch... with a girl on his lap. They were making out. The girl's mouth dropped open in shock. The boy's eyes connected with hers and he immediately pushed the girl that was on his lap away. He got up and began walking towards her, "Kinsley, this isn't what it looks like." The girl glared at him in disbelief. "That's such a classic line, Jeremy. That's what people usually say 'when it is what it looks like'. And it obviously looks like you were making out with that girl. How could you do this to me? I've forgiven you so many times and you just continue to do these kinds of things over and over again. I'm tired of it, Jeremy. I should have done this a long time ago, but I was too stupid to realize it. We're done. Don't talk to me ever again," the girl said, venom lacing her words. "Babe, c'mon. Don't be like this," the boy said getting closer to her. "Leave me alone, Jeremy," the girl said as she began to walk away. Suddenly, a hand gripped onto her wrist. She tried pulling away, but he had an iron grip. She began to panic as he pulled her towards a back door. "Let me-," she began, but was cut off when a hand covered her mouth. She was pulled outside and thrown onto the ground in an alleyway. She stood up as quickly as she could and turned to face him. "Jeremy, what the fuck are you doing?" She said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Obviously, I'm going to kick your ass," he said as a smirk appeared on his face. Suddenly, he leaped at her causing the girl to jump sideways to avoid getting tackled by him. She tried getting up quickly, but he had already gotten to her. She felt a pair of hands grab the back of her shirt and toss her sideways, into a wall. Black dots began to appear as she tried to regain her composure. Her head was pounding, and she didn't even know where the blood on her shirt came from. "Jeremy, stop," she said, trying to sound more confident than she felt. He then, pushed her up against a wall and whispered into her ear, "I'm going to fucking kill you. You stupid bitch." He began to pound her against the wall. She screamed in pain and terror as her whole body was slammed into the concrete wall over and over again. A ringing sensation began in her ears and blackness crept over her eyes. Suddenly, it stopped. There is still pain, but the pounding had stopped. Is she dead? Did he just stop? She hadn't even realized her eyes were shut. She struggled to open them, but eventually managed. She thought she was imagining what she saw when she opened her eyes, but she knew it was real. Jeremy had tentacles coming from his mouth and three people had glowing knives or swords in there hands. They were attacking him and he was fighting back. Abruptly, a sword went flying in the air after being smacked out of one of their hands by Jeremy and landed right next to the girl. She stared at it. It was beautiful. The way the blade was curved. The way it glowed in the dark. The way it reflected off of everything. A yell rippled through the night air, bringing the girl's attention back towards the fight. The sword that had landed next to her, seemingly, belonged to the figure that was on the ground with Jeremy on top of him. She wondered why the others weren't helping him. On the ground near the other wall, a body lie unmoving. A taller figure was crawling on the ground towards something on the floor, but it seemed so far away. She looked back towards the figure on the ground and saw that he was struggling to keep Jeremy or the 'thing' away from his face. He was going to die, unless someone did something. She tried to pull herself to her feet. As she got onto her knees an intense pain became apparent in her leg and head. She groaned, but continued to get up. As soon as she got one foot under her she fell back down to the ground in defeat. With another groan she began to drag herself towards the sword on the ground, that was next to her, but it was no longer glowing. She stared at it, not knowing what to do. She grabbed it and it immediately lit up, at her touch. She began dragging herself towards the boy and the thing on top of him. The boy yelled out in exhaustion as the thing came closer to his face. His arms were shaking from holding the thing back for so long. She couldn't watch this boy die. He saved her life. She got up with a yell and threw the sword over her head and said with venom lacing each word, "Fuck you". And with that she drove the sword right into the thing's back. It let out an ear piercing cry and vanished into thin air. She breathed heavily, as her eyes widened in horror. She looked down at the boy on the ground, and he was looking back at her in shock. He began to get up, as black dots spread over her vision. Suddenly, she collapsed, but before she hits the ground a pair of arms catch her. She opened her eyes as much as she could, and she saw the boy's face. He had blonde hair that glowed in the moonlight, one of his eyes was blue and the other was golden brown, his face was chiseled and defined. He was handsome. In fact, he looked like a god. "Who are you?" She asked, without even realizing she was talking. He looked at her right in the eye and said in a velvety voice, "I'm a Shadowhunter." Then everything went black.
