David and James had arrived back at the station and headed into David's office to talk. There was still a shit ton that they needed to figure out before they could even start contemplating who a suspect could be.
It had been a long few days for James and David could tell. He wanted to start off with some easy, almost basic, questions. David asked "what had your parents been up to the month prior to their murder?" James responded "I honestly have no clue what they were up to." He takes a deep worried breath "all I know is that the night before I left my dad had gotten a phone call that really upset him and I'm not sure who it was, I've never heard him so upset. He almost seemed scared." James seemed worried by the blank look on David's face. Yet David didn't even notice he had an idea on how he could find a suspect. He finally began talking again, he said " I have an idea, but you have to be able to help me, is that alright with you James?". James retorted, "hell yeah, anything to find that bastard who killed my parents and bring him down". It was time for them to put the plan into action.
David told James that he needed to go back into the house, he knew it'd be tough for James to do, and then he had to find his dad's contact booking the safe. It was the only place that Mr.Scott would keep something so private. Mr.Scott had quite a few secret connections, that's how he made so much money.
This was the first time James had been back into the house with a rational mindset after his parents death and it was eating away at him how empty it felt in there without them. What was he going to do? He was a 17 year old orphan, could he live on his own? Or was he going to become a ward of the state and forced into a foster home? That's the last thing he wanted. He just wanted his parents and his life back. He couldn't take living without them, he lived his parents even through all of the arguments and fighting. Deep down his parents were everything to him, both his brother and sister were already gone and neither of them talked to their parents, or James for that matter, and he was all that they had left. James went into his bedroom and grabbed his phone charger and a duffle bag full of clothes so he didn't have to come back for a while longer. Then he went to his dad's office, the safe was hidden in the most clique place. It was right behind the family photo behind Mr.Scott's desk. The code was also a clique, it was just Mr.Scott's Social Security number. Which in all honesty is pretty secure for a code. James had finally gotten the safe open after six tries, he found the contact book and brought it back to the station with him. He had no idea what David needed it for but he had it and he was prying that it made some impact on the investigation.
