The Road Trip

Chapter 1

Sunday, September 4, 1:00 p.m.
The sun shone as Wally sat with Dick on his front porch.  "Isn't it crazy that we're all leaving off to college in a week?" Wally asked.  "Yup," Dick said sighing.  "I'm really gonna miss you man," Wally said, frowning slightly.  "Me too," Dick said, frowning too.  "Hey, call me crazy, but what if we went on a road trip to Florida? You, Kaldur, Conner, Artemis, Zatanna, Raquel, Megan, and me!  We'll have a blast!"  Wally exclaimed.  "I think that's a horrible idea," Dick said back.  "C'mon man!"  Wally complained.  "What if we all die!?" Dick asked.  "We won't!  We're all responsible, right?" Wally said.  "I don't know..." Dick said, pinching his nose.  "I don't care what you say, all six of us are going on a road trip," Wally said, walking into his house to call everyone.
   Ring! Ring! Ring!  The phone went off as Artemis, Megan, Zatanna, and Raquel watched a movie.  Ring! Ring! Ring!  "Jade! Answer the damn phone! I'm watching a movie!" Artemis yelled.  The ringing stopped as Jade yelled, "Hey Artemis! The damn phone is for you!"  "Ugh!" Artemis complained as she got up to get the phone.  "Pause the movie, would ya?" Artemis asked before leaving the room.  Megan paused the movie as Artemis raced downstairs.  "Here," Jade said, handing the phone to Artemis.  "Hello?" Artemis talked into the phone.  "Hey, it's Wally."  "What do you want?"  Artemis replied.  "We're going on a road trip to Florida. We leave tomorrow, so hurry up and pack your things."  "Um, okay?" Artemis said raising an eyebrow.  "Don't forget to tell the other girls. Bye!" Wally hung up the phone.  Artemis put down the phone and walked back to her room.  "Hey, we're going on a road trip tomorrow," Artmeis said, opening the door.  "We're?" Raquel asked.  "Yeah, we are, with Wally," Artemis said.  "Who else is going?" Zatanna asked.  "I don't know, Wally didn't tell me," Artemis said, sitting down.  "I'm guessing Dick is coming," Megan said.  "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna go pack for the trip," Raquel said, standing up.  "I should go pack, too," Megan said.  "Zatanna you should go," Artemis stood up.  "Okay, then, I will," Zatanna chuckled.  "See you tomorrow!" Megan yelled, leaving the room.  "Bye!" Zatanna exclaimed. "See ya later!" Raquel left the room. Artemis closed her bedroom door and walked over to her closet, wondering what to pack.
Monday, September 5, 4:00 a.m.
   Honk! Honk!  Wally's car woke Zatanna up from her nap on the couch.  She tip-toed down to hallway of her apartment and went into her dad's room and gave him a kiss on his forehead.  "Bye," Zatanna whispered before running outside.  "Hey," she said getting into the car.  "Morning to you too," Dick said from the front seat.  Inside the car were Wally, Dick, Kaldur, Conner, Raquel, and Megan.  Zatanna sat in between Megan and Raquel and asked, "Hey, where Artemis?"  "We're picking her up right now," Wally said, turning the car around. 
   Ten minutes passed and Wally finally pulled into Artemis' driveway. Honk!  "Jade! I'm leaving now!" Artemis yelled running down the stairs.  "Bye! Don't die!" Jade yelled as Artemis rolled her eyes.  She walked down the steps on her porch and ran into the car.  "Took you long enough," Artemis said, squeezing between Raquel and Zatanna.  "So what do we do now?" Conner asked from his seat in the way back.  "Is it too early for some tunes?" Megan suggested.  "It's never too early," Dick said as he turned on the radio.  Megan, Raquel, and Dick sang along with the song playing. "Once in a while I feel like, I just wanna dance and feel good!"  "Too tired to sing?" Artemis asked Zatanna as the song kept playing.  "Too tired to do anything," Zatanna let out a yawn.  "I'm gonna get sleep."  "I like that idea," Artemis said, closing her eyes.  "What could ruin this trip?" she kept thinking until she fell asleep in the moving car.

Did you like it?  I personally really like this so far, so I'm going to cancel "A Young Justice Summer" so I can work on this book more often. Anyways, bye!! See you later!
