*Memory* Eight years old.

"how was school today, Shay?" Sarah asked. "it was good" I replied twisting my feet around with my hands behind my back. Sarah was one of my "babysitters". I have no parents so I have to stay with strangers. but its okay because I have Mitch. "do you want to go play with the other kids?" Sarah insisted. "no thank you, I'm going to go up to my room" I said. "are you sure? you're always in your room" she said. "Yes, I'm sure, thank you" I insisted politely. She sighed and nodded. I quickly raced to the stairs, nearly tripping over my big shoes a couple of times. I climbed up the stairs on my hands and knees as fast as I could. I was still having trouble getting up the stairs.

I ran into my room and slowly shut the door. My room was huge, it was filled with toys and clothes and everything I needed. Sarah had bought me barbie dolls but I told her I wasn't interested in that stuff, I like bugs and electric guitars. Sarah got scared when I told her that.

I opened my window with a struggle and climbed out onto the little ledge. I grabbed onto another ledge above me and pushed myself up with my tiny legs. I sat on the the tiny ledge brushing the dirt off of my oversized  uniform.  Now comes the hard part, the roof. I stared up at the ledge next to roof, it was even smaller this time.

I quickly reached my hands out and jumped to reach the ledge. I held on with a slight grip but could feel myself slipping. "aahh" I squealed attempting to hold on. I felt a warm invisible hand grabbed mine. At first I was scared but I realized. Mitch. The hand pulled me up with a tight grip and lifted me to the roof without much effort.

"Thanks, Mitch" I said catching my breath. The cold air breeze brushed my face. I sat on top of the roof next to the chimney. This is where I stay everyday. This is where Mitch can keep me safe. Tears rolled down my cheek as I examined the bruises from today. A warm flow of air brushed against my neck and back to comfort me. "Mitch?" I asked looking up. A white glowing figure of a man started to appear sitting down next to me. He was so tall. his heavily tattooed arms were way bigger than my arms. He had a little symbol just under his eye, it was the same one I had on my arm.  He looked down at me with a small smile. I buried my head in my arms, trying to hide my sadness and bruises.  A warm hand grabbed mine. I looked back up to see Mitch starring at me with a worried expression. He held his large hand out. I put my mine ontop of his and we both closed our eyes.

I was surrounded by darkness. The Black skies are back. I loved the darkness, It allowed me to see Mitch as he was. Standing only a few feet away from me was Mitch, He has beautiful black hair, light brown eyes, they're light enough to nearly be red, pale white skin, a perfect white glowing smile. But the thing I love most about Mitch is His amazing, big angel wings, they glow in the dark and make everything shine. Mitch usually had a smile on his face, yet he always seemed sad in a way.

"Hey Princess" He smiled. The sad thing was I could only ever talk to Mitch in the darkness. "Hi Mitch!" I said in a high girly voice with a smile. Mitch told me that my smile was adorably and that Every time I smiled I had cute little dimples. "How was school?" He asked. "good" I lied starring down at the floor playing with my hands. "Shay" He demanded. "what?" I moaned trying to act innocent.  "what happened today?" he asked taking a step closer. "nothin-" I said but was cut off "Shaylee, what happened" He demanded. " The kids teased me and pushed me over" I whispered  looking down. "Chin up gorgeous, A girl as beautiful as you should never frown. Don't worry about them, They aren't worth your time." He  said  stroking my cheek with the palm of his hand. "I know" I smiled "Mitch, why couldn't you come to school with me today?". There was a long pause before he finally, nervously said "I cant tell you hunny, Maybe when you're older". He tried to keep a smile. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his leg, hugging him "I love you Mitch", He smiled and wrapped his arms around my back "I love you too, Shay".......
