Chapter 4:

"Ouch!"I whispered quietly as I rubbed my forehead to lessen the pain fromit colliding with my desk. The few people around me snickered, probably witnessing me failing to stay upright from how exhausted Iwas and almost falling asleep. I couldn't keep this up.

Iraised my hand and waited for the teacher to take notice. When hedid, he raised an eyebrow in my direction "Yes Mr. Wright?"

"Ineed to go the bathroom" I blurted out in my rush to leave theclassroom.

"That'san interesting point Mr. Wright, why are you informing me on this?'He retorted. The class snickered.

Smartass.

Igritted my teeth "May Iplease go to thebathroom?" I asked, holding back the urge to backtalk the teacher. The teacher smiled smugly and waved me off with his hand. I got outof my seat and made my way towards the door.

Ididn't actually need the bathroom but if I stayed in there any longerI would've fallen asleep. It's only first period so that's not a goodsign. I sighed and regretted my decision of deciding to stay outlonger with the trio when I knew it would probably result in asleep-deprived me the next day.

Afterthey picked me up,we first went to an old arcade and played a fewgames before just sitting around, we then later hung out at a skatepark where they introduced me to a few of their friends who don't goto our school. After that, it was getting pretty dark and I suggestedwe head back home or for them to at least drop me off. They convincedme to stay a bit longer...And then a bit longer turned into a fewmore hours.

Asleep-deprived me was not someone you wanted to meet, I wasshort-fused and all-in-all just a huge grump...more so than usual. SoI took it upon myself to avoid anything that might set me off and sofar I was doing pretty well.

UntilI saw the freaking bomb herself.

Ithought about doing a duck and cover but that kinda backfired sincethe moment I put myself in a brace position, she closed her lockerdoor and turned around to face me.

Well,shit.

Shewaved enthusiastically "Good morning Ian Wright!" She walkedtowards me "How was your first day?" She asked with grin.

Isettled with walking away.

"Hey!Wait up!" I heard her heels stepping on the floor behind me beforeI felt her presence beside me. I gave her a glance and realized thateven with her six-inch heels she was stillshorter than me. Damn, how short could she be without them?

"Youknow Ian Wright, it's not very polite to ignore people" She frownedteasingly.

"It'snot very polite to annoy them too but, Oh! Here we both are I guess"I retorted sarcastically. She threw her head back in laughter.

"You'refunny Ian Wright" She smiled ahead of her.

"Youknow what's not funny? You, now shut up"

Shelaughed once again "If you keep being mean to me I might startthinking you don't like me around"

"Wouldn'twant you to think that, now would we"

"Exactly,Ian Wright"

"Whythe hell do you keep calling me by my full name?" I asked her"Although I'd prefer it If you didn't call me at all"

Shescratched her head, as if she was actually thinking about it "Hm...I don't know" She then turned to me "But I like it that way, don't you?"

Irolled my eyes and started walking faster to avoid her but shematched my pace easily "So Ian Wright, do you play any sports?"
