Chapter 5
"You know, I've never been an artsy type of person but I can say that this is some fine piece of art"
"Damn, I've never seen anything so beautiful"
"You guys do realize you sound like you're checking out some girls ass rather than,literally, a piece of art?" I questioned, looking at both Ryan and Raven, me standing in between them.
They both looked at each other for a second before Raven put her hands up "I'm not gay"was Raven's excuse.
Ryan scoffed "You're gonna have to try a bit harder than that to convince us Raven"
She glared at him "Shut the fuck up, I'm straighter than the pole your mum dances on"
I struggled to contain my laughter as I put my fist in my mouth to muffle them. Evony didn't even bother stopping her laughter and clutched her stomach from all the laughter. Ryan just glared back at Raven before huffing and crossing his arms.
"Oh my god!" A high voice sounded from behind us as we turned around to find a black haired girl smiling so widely I thought her cheeks would cut open. I let out a quiet groan as I thought she was talking to me but imagine my surprise when she didn't even glance my way but kept her gaze on Ryan.
"Ryry! What are you doing here?" She squealed in surprise "You don't take this class"
I was even more surprised when Ryan gave her a grin just as large in response "Hey lab partner, I didn't know you took this one either"
She laughed "I do!You should've taken this class too, imagine all the trouble we'd cause" Her chirpy voice gave me a headache "I think the teachers are trying to avoid that from now on, putting us in the same classes I mean, ever since word got around that we blew up the science teachers desk or melted a hole in the floor of our class, also known as the roof of our principles office they've been quite wary" She continued to talk, oblivious to the fact that no one was listening.Well I thought so, until I looked at the expression on everyone's faces.
The scariest thing was that while Raven was close to pulling her hair out and Evony was shooting daggers at the girl, Ryan just stared at her with a smile and a soft look in his eyes. I didn't like it.
"Which is why the physics teacher never ever let me help her out on a demonstration again since Sophmore year" She concluded with her one sided conversation. Her eyes then met mine as if she was just realizing I was there "Ian Wright! You didn't tell me you were friends with him too!" She directed her last statement towards Ryan. He shrugged.
"Yeah Ryry" I mocked him. He blushed while looking down at the floor. He goddamn blushed.
"Sorry to interrupt this awesome friendship reunion but if we don't get going now we're gonna be late for next period" Raven impatiently said. She linked arms with Ryan and moved towards the door "Come on Ryry"
Evony stayed behind a little and shot one last glare towards the oblivious dark haired girl and left. She was staring at the painting intensely and stood silently next to me before she spoke up again.
"What do you think this means?" She asked, while tilting her head to the side. I wasn't expecting that.
I studied the painting closer. It was two people looking towards each other with large genuine smiles on their faces. A boy and a girl. The only thing was that both of them appeared to have two faces. While one of their faces was bright and smiling, the boys second face was scowling with intense hatred and the girls was smirking with interest. Although this time the colors weren't as dark as the other painting but still not bright. It was a steel blue.
