A Merman's Wish

Transformation

"Winter" Ocean's eyes widened as he sat up and held his throat. "I'm alive...and I can...talk?" I nodded my head as fresh tears started to fall. Ocean looked at me before engulfing me in a huge hug. "You saved my life Winter, thank you" I hugged him back as i continued to cry. 

"Ocean..." He pulled away from me and looked at his mother. she pointed down  and when he looked his eyes widened in shock. 

"But how?"

"She did it! She turned you back!" The twins said excitedly as they pointed at me.

"Why?" 

"I..."

"None of that matters now. You're safe and that's all we care about" His mother wrapped him in a hug. "Lets go home Ocean"

"NO! I'm not leaving Winter"

"Ocean go with them" He turned and looked at me as i did everything i could to avoid eye contact with him.

"Why?" I sighed heavily as i looked up at him. I was tired of crying and tired of fighting for a love that would only leave me in the end.

"They're your family, and if they didn't care about you they wouldn't have come here to get you back" I got up and went to his mother. "If it's alright with you, may I please see your wounds" She nodded a bit hesitantly and allowed me to heal her wounds. I used the salt water instead of fresh water considering she is a mermaid and i didn't want her skin to dry out from the lack of salt. After her wounds were healed, her and her older sons looked at where the wounds had been in shock as i turned back to Ocean who had maneuvered himself to be right in front of me.

"Do you want me to go because you don't love me" I looked at him sadly and lowered my gaze to the sand. Ocean looked out towards the ocean before sighing. "I'll go, but only if you can look me in the eyes and tell me that you don't love me. Say that to me and I'll go" I looked up at him, then behind me. His family was looking at me, and when i looked back at Ocean he was doing the same. "I-i" He held my face in his hands forcing me to look into his blue eyes.

"Tell me that you don't love me Winter"

"I can't" I whispered. Tears were threatening to fall down my face and I was fighting so hard to keep them under control.

"Why not?"

"Because then i would be lying to myself and to you!" The tears started falling and i couldn't wipe them as fast as they were falling.

"Winter" he pulled me into a hug and allowed me to cry into his shoulder.

"Do you really love him?" Ocean let go of me and I turned to look at his mother. I nodded and she sighed. "I always told you boys that if you fall for a human I'd wring you out and let sea gulls have at you..." Ocean tensed up a bit and his mother must have noticed because she out a small chuckle as she made her way over to me. "but you my dear are an exception. Not only did you risk your life to save me and my sons, but you healed me and Ocean and you returned him to his original form. I don't know about how Caspian feels about this but at this point it doesn't matter, the only thing that matters right now is who in this world is going to miss you?" I shook my head.

"I'm an only child and both my parents are gone. Osiris is truly the only one here who would probably miss me, but why do you ask?" She smiled at me before stretching her hand out to me.

"Because I've always wanted a daughter" Ocean gasped when his mother said that and i couldn't believe my ears. I couldn't believe that the Queen of the ocean, Ocean's mother was willing to turn me into a mermaid.

"You can do that mother?"

"Of course I can, as long as the subject is willing?" Everyone looked at me expectantly. 

"Winter?" I turned to look at Ocean and i couldn't help but smile as more tears began to fall.

"I'm such a baby" I giggled as i looked up at him. "Nothing would make me happier than to join you in the ocean" Ocean smiled widely at me as he hugged me tightly. I could hear his brothers cheering for him in the background. I couldn't help but smile as well.

"Well then lets see  what we can do about those legs" Ocean's mother put her hand on my shoulder and I let go of Ocean and turned to face her. "Are you ready dear" I nodded and the next thing i know I was glowing the brightest i have ever glowed before. "Welcome to the family" When the glowing ceased i looked and gasped. I no longer had legs, I had tail. A real mermaids tail. 

"I-i...WOW!" I looked at Ocean's mother and she smiled at me and I couldn't help it. I hugged her and she hugged me back. When we parted from our hug i was attacked by the twins, bombarding me with questions.

"Ok boys settle down. I think its time for us all to head home" Their mother said as she and Ocean's brothers made their way into the water. I stopped for a second and looked towards my home. Osiris came flying as fast as he could to me and flew right into my open arms. 

"Hey i wasn't gonna leave without you anyways" I held him close and turned to Ocean and he held his hand out to me to take. I smiled and took it and together, along with Osiris, we headed deeper into the ocean. And as i watched the surface get farther and farther away i did not once look back, instead I looked forward towards my future.
