Part 28 - Never Alone

I checked the fitting of my sky blue bikini, turning to look at my ass and smiled. "Yeah, you getting a fat booty", Tiana laughed coming out of the hotel bathroom in her bikini. "Thickening up in all the right places", she said, bumping me out of the mirror to look at herself. "I'm so fat, look", she pouted and I had to laugh. "Princess you have a six pack", I said. "No, I have the remanence of a six pack, its fading away", she pouted. "Girl please, you look fierce and that color is rockin", I said of the burnt orange color she was wearing. "Here, wear my cover up and come on, the girls are waiting", I said walking out the door. Six of us were spending three days in sunny Miami for Tiana's bachelorette weekend the week before the wedding and we were ready to live it up! I lay in the sun sipping another frothy daiquiri listening to the waves crashing and the steady conversation around me and perked when I heard my name. "Candy, please tell me you're breaking your fast and getting some while we're down here", Sabrina said. "Nah, I'm good to be honest", I said. "Seriously, how can you stand it", Tiana said. "It's not that bad. As long as nothing peeks my interest I don't even think about it", I said. "Had that interest peeked at the Image Awards didn't you", Tiana laughed sipping her drink. "Girl!" I said. "Yeah, how did that go? We all knew you ran into him, but I wanna know", Marie said. "It's funny because I knew he was going to be there but I didn't expect him to be with his sister. I was prepared to run into him with some stinking model or something", I said. "Then we made eye contact and it was like lightening. I mean after all this time his sexy ass still has me", I said. "Had her ass ready to jump them bones", Tiana laughed again.

"For real though; he had my ass flashing back to him snatching off this bikini in Aruba like yaaassss Daddy, come get it", I said making everyone laugh. "But I was there for Randy so, I had to snap out of it and focus on my boo", I said holding up my hand and admiring my ring. "While we are on the subject of sexy Bruno", Tiana started and laughed at my side eye, "What, I can still look", she said. "He's not mine, I mean Kameron might have something to say about it though", I laughed as more drinks were brought over from the beach bar. "Well he can deal with it, our love for Bruno is what brought him Tiana anyway", Sabrina said. "Anyway, since Candy is ok talking about her sexy ex now, I just have one question", Tiana said loudly. "Yes?" I asked feeling a little buzz. "When we gonna get a look at that sex tape?" she said and everyone instantly started screaming, cheering and laughing.  "When I got back to the States, and he seemed to know exactly when that was", I said rolling my eyes at Tiana because I knew she still talked to him, "he sent it to me". "I had forgotten all about it until I got his package", I said. "Awe, that's sweet, he sent it to you like he promised", Ally said. "It was the first time I had any contact with him since I moved out and I just wasn't expecting it. He sent pictures of my dog and a nice letter just saying he hoped I was well and maybe he'd see me around", I said. "That's nice, but where's the tape?" Tiana demanded. "Nasty ass, I'm sure he still has a copy and mine is locked away in safe deposit box!" I said.

*One Week Later*
The wedding was held just outside of our hometown and everyone was staying in the same hotel. All the bridesmaids were getting hair and makeup in my suite. When I was finished, I walked across to Tiana's bridal suite with her mom and aunts and I watched her get prepped with hair and makeup and glanced back in the mirror at myself. "You look fine", Tiana's mom said, "gorgeous as always". "She's just mad she chopped all her hair off ", Tiana said, eyes closed as hairspray went flying everywhere. "No, I like it, it's just really, really short", I said raising a hand to my pixie cut hair.  "How do you feel Mama?" I asked Tiana. "Nauseous, nervous, all of the above", she said grabbing her stomach. The hotel staff wheeled in a cart with champagne, fruit and cheese and our lunch. I cracked open a ginger ale and poured it into a champagne flute and handed it to Tiana. "Hold that thought", she said running to the bathroom. "Oh my poor baby", her mom said, getting out of the makeup chair. "I got it", I said grabbing the soda and going into the bathroom. "You know good and well you can't watch anybody throw up without getting sick yourself", she said rinsing her mouth out. "I'm fine. Drink this, it'll help", I said smiling. "Uhh, it's my wedding day! I can't be throwing up on my wedding day", she pouted. "You're only ten weeks, baby, it'll pass. The wait staff all know to keep your glass full of ginger ale all night and eating something might help", I told her. "Leave it to me to get pregnant right before my wedding", she pouted again. "No one knows but who you want to know. Your dress is amazing and your wedding has been planned perfectly, if I do say so myself, and I do", I told her. She stood facing the mirror, clutching the sink and I saw her whole body was shaking. "Princess", I said grabbing her and turning her to face me. "Am I crazy? It's too soon and now with the baby, it's too much", she said tears streaming down her face. "Nerves are to be expected", I said hugging her. "Candy it's not nerves, this is my life. What am I doing?" she cried. "Look at me. What you're doing is starting a life with the man you love. Look at your life in ten years, or three, hell in two weeks! Can you see it without him in it?" I asked. "No", she sniffed. "But what about you? When you got married I thought you and Josh were going to last forever", she cried.  "Please don't use my marriage as your example", I laughed. "Think of your parents, of my parents; that's forever and solid", I said. "Baby, you're in love and it's scary. But trust me, no one knows you like I do. And Princess you love that man in a way that you've never loved.  Now, I didn't spend all of Josh's family's money on this wedding for you to run out on me. So dry those tears eat and get your face beat!" I yelled. "Ugh, you're right and my dress is killer!" she said. We laughed, cried and hugged it out again in the bathroom before her mom stuffed food in both our faces.
