Leo's POV:

Nyssa's eyes widen as Nick stumbles back.
"What? What happened to her?" Nick asks, his voice full of panic. I shake my and continue to push myself out of the cabin.
I can feel them running behind me as I race over to cabin three.
"What did he do this time?" I hear Nyssa mutter.
"It can't be good," Nick mumbles. Something about his voice cuts through me more than I was expecting.

I try twisting the doorknob but it doesn't have any affect.
"It's never a good sign if she locks it," I hear another voice say.
"How bad do you think it got this time?"
I don't even wait. There're many ways I could've gotten into the cabin. Especially since I'm a son of Hephaestus. But there wasn't any time to think; there was barely any time to breathe.
I slammed my fists against the door, lighting up my hands at the same time. Everyone behind me gasps, some scream, some run. I don't care.
I burn my way inside.

I run past Percy's bunk to (Y/N)'s side. There's blood everywhere.
I cool down, and pick her up, trying not to shift her too much just in case I cause any extremely serious damage. She seemed to be asleep but when I pick her up her eyes flicker open for a moment, as if she had mustered up all of her remaining strength just to look around.

A sickening smile spreads across her face as she sees the blood and the flames. She lets out a low, soul crushing laugh, like she's given up on trying.
"Nice one Gaea," she whispers.
"What did she say?!" Annabeth's voice snaps.

I look up, holding (Y/N)'s body closer protectively.
"Put her down," that guy – Will – says, brushing past Annabeth. By now everyone is huddled around us. I hear the now familiar sound of hooves rushing over grass. Chiron. The crowd of demigods circled around us parts, letting him through to (Y/N).
Will's already on the ground next to her, his hands on her stomach and chest.
"Get water!" he barks out, his voice cracked and panicked. His concern seems to make Annabeth even more tense, and I get a bad feeling that Will hasn't ever struggled to heal someone.
"What happened to her?" I hear Annabeth snap at Chiron. He just shakes his head.
"What aren't you telling me," she says, this time her voice strained but more controlled.
"You haven't ever kept information from me! Even the last Great Proph-"
"Enough Annabeth!" Everyone is silent.
I keep my eyes on (Y/N) as Will yells out orders in a desperate attempt to save her. I don't do anything. I just stand. And watch.
I stay in that state until Annabeth shoves me towards them.
"Do it," she says.
I look up at her, confused.
"Just do it."
"Gee, thanks for your wisdom Shia."
"I know you know what to do. Do it."

She looks at me with an odd expression. Trust? No, that can't be it. Desperation. Yep, that's the one.
I look down at (Y/N). The woman told me I had to go with her, or everyone around me would suffer. Well, not exactly but something along those lines. How was I meant to go with her?

I reach out and put (Y/N)'s hand in mine. Nothing happens.
"Why isn't it working?" Will screams.
"I- I don't know. I don't know how it works."
"Maybe if you touch the wound..." Annabeth says, resting her hand on my shoulder in support. I look up at her, nod and look back down at (Y/N).
I place my hands on the base of her cut, at the edge of her waist. Nothing happens. I put my other one at the top. The cut has gotten longer since I last saw her. Deeper too. And it hasn't stopped bleeding. Maybe, if there was a way to make it stop bleeding...
That's it, my hero.
I snap back, stumbling to my feet. Everyone's watching me, but no one speaks.
Go back down Leo. You can still save her.
I follow the voice as it shivers up my back and into my ears.
Put your palms at the base. Yes, like that. And spread your fingers across it.
What now?
Fire Leo. Use your fire.
"No." Will looks down in defeat. Annabeth lets out a sob. The whole camp is here now. And now, the whole camp is mourning.
I let the hot feeling spread through me, running through my veins. I feel it flow through my body, flooding me with this sudden feeling of energy. Of power.
I take a deep breath in and let the feeling take over me. Just at my fingertips. I need to stay in control.

I hear Annabeth start to yell for me to stop, but she sees the wound start to cauterize and stops.
It needs more.
I let the flames travel down through to the base of my fingers.
Still needs more.
I let the flames spread across my palms.
More.
No. She'll die.
More.
I gulp and stand up, letting the flames go out.
She's not exactly healed, but she's stable.
I watch Will as he and some of his siblings carry her to the infirmary. Annabeth stands at my side.
"She'll be ok," Annabeth whispers. "Thanks to you."
She'll be ok, the voice mocks. Thanks to you and me, my hero.
