(Y/N)'s POV:

"You sure she's good to come?" Jason questions, looking at me uncertainly. "I mean, she was pretty much dead a couple of minutes ago."
"What's that supposed to mean?!" I hear Clarisse yell from somewhere. We were both very protective of Silena, and although we were slight rivals before (and Percy and her don't really get along very well) we've grown close after the Titan War.
"(Y/N)'s one of our best fighters! You insult her, you insult the camp! Unless that's what you're going for, Roman."
"Clarisse! Calm down! He's just concerned. You would be too if you had to travel with 3 other demigods, one of them seemingly unstable, and you couldn't remember a thing about yourself." I note that Piper grimaces when I mention his 'amnesia'.
Clarisse gives Jason a death glare and hugs me goodbye.
"Hit that kid a couple of times for me, would you?" she whispers. I laugh and pull back, but she doesn't seem in a very good mood. Not that she ever is.
"Bye Annabeth," I say, hugging her as well.
"Hey (Y/N)?"
"Yeah?"
"If you find anything about Percy..."
"You'll be the first one I tell." I give her the warmest smile I can muster.
"Same here."
I turn around and climb on Festus's back, with Leo's help. Piper and Jason follow. Both of them seem uneasy about me but Leo doesn't seem to notice and I'm not really in any mood to try and figure any of it out.
Festus was pretty much designed to be ridden, so the grooves in his back are like high-tech saddles and there are chinks in his armour for you to hook your feet in.
I'm still tense about flying, but Leo's easy attitude and Festus's determined whirrs comfort me. Slightly. Also, the fact that we're flying with a son of Zeus- or Jupiter I guess- calms me down. And riding Festus isn't too different from riding a Pegasus.
Leo raises the reins and Festus takes off. When we start flying I panic and grab onto Leo's waist, trying my best not to fall off. Piper and Jason seem fine, but they both look slightly uncomfortable with my agitation. Still, Leo doesn't seem to mind so I hold on to him, praying to my dad that if I do fall, it'll be a quick death. The good thing is that I'm so scared I don't realise how far we've flown until the coast of Long Island is just a hazy line behind us.
I have friends in the Hephaestus cabin that are gifted at working machines, but the way Leo steers Festus is different. It seems like he's been doing it all of his life. But I suppose Festus himself is different as well. His metal wings work perfectly, to the point where I can barely believe he's made of metal.
"Cool right," Leo says, grinning back at us whilst we shoot over Connecticut.
"What happens if we get spotted?" Piper asks.
"The Mist," I say, before I even know I've said anything. They all look at me. Leo seems curious but Piper and Jason seem to have... mixed feelings.
"It's this thing that keeps mortals from seeing anything that's magical. If they do see us, they'll probably thing we're a small plane or something." Jason nods.
"She's right."
Piper glances over her shoulder and whispers: "You sure about that?"
"No," Jason admits quietly. I blush as Leo frowns at them before turning around and steering Festus through the grey clouds.
I feel Piper tense behind me and (although I probably shouldn't) I turn around to see what's wrong. At first I don't see anything wrong, but then I see Jason stuff a picture into his coat pocket. If I didn't know better I would've sworn it was Thalia. Jason blushes.
"We're making good time. Probably get there by tonight," he says in a desperate attempt to change the subject.
"Yeah, where exactly are we heading again?" I ask, trying to break the tension. They don't seem particularly mad at me, but I guess they still need some time to get use to the idea of me.
"To find the god of the North Wind," Jason replies.
I nod. "Boreas."
