-Chapter 28-

-Ian's POV-

I looked over Tyler's wound, wincing at the pure red. "Okay, so I need to take care of this. So just cover us, okay?"

Bodil nodded slowly, then jumped up, heading towards the monster to defend us.

"Okay..." I muttered, quickly taking my backpack off my back. I slung it onto the ground, then began to sift through it. I came out a few moments later with a bottle of water , a tissue to-go bag, and a cloth. I quickly threw the backpack towards the other side of the room without much care.

I sat crisscross so I was comfortable, then twisted open the bottle. I placed the cap gentle in my palm, then poured some of the water into it. I then took a tissue from the small bag and dipped it into the water. I watched as the cloth deepened in color from the sudden wetness amount.

"Alright.." I muttered, taking it out. I gently applied the bandage to Tyler's arm, pressing gently. He winced, but I shook my head. "Sorry, but I have to."

He just nodded and stayed quiet while I did my work, rubbing gently. I continuously felt his arm to see if the hotness was dumbing down, and smiled when I finally got a responce.

"Alright, that's good..." I muttered to myself more than Tyler. I slipped the now completely wet tissue into my pocket, then picked up the gauze. I stretched it out, reluctantly giving it a tug.

"Okay..." I warned "This is going to hurt."

Tyler looked away, squeezing his eyes tight. "Okay..." He murmured, still looking away. "Go ahead."

I nodded and slipped it under his elbows, making sure the thick side was on his burn. I then grabbed the tips and quickly tied them up in a bow. "Ready?" I asked slowly. He nodded.

I tugged at the tips, making the cloth go tighter around his arm. Tyler's eyes widened and he gave off a yelp of pain, but that was all he admitted.

"One more time..." I muttered, giving another tug. He yelped out again, this time clutching right under the wound as if that soothed the pain.

"Alright." I said, backing away and letting go of the gauze. He nodded and smiled lightly.

"Thanks..."

"No problem. Now, watch this." I smirked, then quickly darted behind one if the knights. I grabbed the gigantic shield it held, giant enough for me to cover my full body. I gripped it close, covering exactly that.

I moved a few feet every moment, hoping the dragon was oblivious to the living life-size shield that was inching its way towards the cellar door, AKA Seto's library...

-Tyler's POV-

I watched as Ian darted down the stairs, the door making a click behind him. I tried to turn my attention back to Bodil to keep my mind away from the numbing pain that spread throughout me.

Bodil. I wanted to scream out to him, hold him close as he promised me it would be fine. But I knew I couldn't. If I caught his attention-if he turned around-he would be gone. Forever lost.
