After cleaning myself up and putting on my normal clothes again I make my way back into Kagome's room silently laying beside her.
As I wrap my arm around her still naked form she moves and turns to face me, a small smile upon her face.
"Did you have a good bath?" I smile back at her. "Ya it was alright. Did you have a good nap?" She nods happily before sitting up and getting off the bed.
I watch her get clothes from the whole in the wall again and follow her down to the first level of the hut after she is fully dressed again.
She leads me into a room with lots of spots to sit and a big box in the corner.
I follow her lead and sit on the long seat.
She turns to me quietly and grabs my hands in hers.
"I know you've been waiting to tell me something all day and I'm sorry I've been so busy but I'm ready to listen now." Her soft smile makes me feel even worse about what I have to say, knowing it'll be gone once she is informed of my lifespan.
I take a deep breath and hold onto her hands a little tighter before I speak, looking into her eyes seriously. "Kagome back at Kaede's hut when I kinda ran out on you guys-"
"When you had your metal breakdown?" Kagome interrupts quietly.
"It was not a mental breakdown!
Alright!?" She giggles. "Alright, continue."
"The reason I ran out was because for the first time in my life, I- I saw my own numbers."
Her eyes widen. "But how can that be? What did your numbers say!?"
I hold her hands a little tighter "I went to see an old friend of mine for some answers, and he told me that the bite I gave to you the first time we made love wasn't just a normal bite... It's a mating mark which binds our lifelines together.." Her face twists with confusion before realization hits her.
Her hands pull away from mine and her eyes begin to water. "You- you mean you're going to die when I die." Tears stream down her face as I nod my head.
"Kagome please don't cry it's not your fault! I was the one who bit you, truthfully I don't want to live in a world without you. It may be selfish but after having you in my life I can't go back to being alone and only existing, never truly living."
She wipes at her eyes before looking at me. "I don't want you to die InuYasha you don't deserve this!"
"And what you do!? You don't deserve to die either Kagome and yet you are!"
Her hurt eyes make my anger fade and guilt suddenly fills my body.
"Kagome.. Don't feel bad about this, it was meant to be, demons only mark the person they are truly meant to be with. This is destiny and we can't change that.. Well maybe we can.. I don't know."
She wipes away her remaining tears. "What do you mean? We can change our destiny?"
"I don't know, today when that kid almost got hit by that metal thing his numbers said he was supposed to die but I just couldn't let it happen and when his Mother had him after I saved him he had another seventy years to live."
"You changed his destiny." Kagome says happily. "Maybe we can change ours!"
I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know Kagome we don't know what we're going to die from and plus who's gonna change our destiny when we both will die together?"
Her face saddens again losing all the hope she had moments before.
"So we'll die at the exact same time?"
