Feeling Human

I sat in the large room, in fresh clothes and clean, as a girl let me shower in her room, even when everyone else wouldnt look at me. I sat awkwardly in the chair, fiddling with my fingers, waiting for someone to come and tell me what the hell was going on.

I stood abruptly when the door opened, allowing Henry and a elderly man, with a strange aura of power around himself. I frowned, turning to Henry, who was stood staring at me with his arms crossed, lazily leaning against the large oak bookshelf.

"She hasn't got a clue, Darius" Henry announced, sounding bewildered and surprised. I scoffed. After the incident in the hall we haven't exactly seen eye to eye. He was hiding something. I knew it. I scowled at him and turned to the man, who I know knew as Darius. He held out his hand.

"My name is Darius. Hello Clara" He said warmly, shaking my hand, ignoring the sharp glares from Henry.

"She knows nothing Darius! Nothing about herself! You have to tell her! She needs to know!" Henry shouted at Darius, pushing himself pff the bookshelf.

Darius ignored him, going behind the large desk, and sitting down in the chair. Henry pushed the papers off the desk, leaning intimidatingly over the desk at Darius, breathing heavily. I wanted to know what was going on.

"Enough! Henry! Someone better tell me what's going on now, or I won't be responsible for the consequences!" I said angrily, glaring at them both. They sat, watching me. Henry had his arms crossed, scowling at me.

"You're not ready" He just said. My mouth gaped open, anger boiling inside me. I stormed towards him, grabbing his collar, ignoring Darius' protests.

"Ready or not, you will tell me. You trust me as much as I trust you" I said, inches away from him. He smirked, which made my victorious smile falter.

"Who said I trust you? You are just some girl who needed a hero. You are one of them. Its in your genes to hurt people. How can I trust someone made to kill?" He sneered at me, making me gasp and let go of him. I took a couple of steps back, tears pricking my eyes. I saw his eyes soften slightly.

"Clara... I-I didn't mean..." He said, standing up from the desk and taking a step towards me, but I didn't want to be around him anymore. I wanted to leave. I had no where to go, and would surely be found by Chris and the guards. I winced at the thought.

Henry took another step towards me, but I turned invisible, running to the door. I opened it, but hesitated.

Henry was stood in the middle of the room. His black clothes gave him a edgy 'bad boy' look, his body structure was intimidating, in contrast to his face, which was full of hurt and sadness. I closed my eyes, a lone tear escaping my eye and darting down my cheek. A soft sob left my lips and I knew he heard because he sighed, walking forward until he was infront of me.

"Clara... Shh it's ok" He cooed. Darius left, saying he wanted to give us some privacy. I turned visible, as it was draining too much of my energy. Henry immediately embraced my sobbing figure, whispering softly in my ear.

When he released me from his hold, I looked to his face. He looked torn. Then he said the most touching thing I'd ever heard.

"If I could tell you Clara, I would, I would tell you everything. But seeing those beautiful blue eyes slip out those tears is unbearable, I'm not sure I could stand it. You mean so much more to me than you think, Clara. I will always wonder how you manage not to feel my connection to you, no matter how small" He said, looking into my eyes. I stood, hanging on his every word.

"Just think of this as a seed. Slowly it will develop and grow. It will florish and withstand anything and eventually, it will turn into something beautiful. But first, the seed must wait to begin, for the right moment, or it will never become such a beautiful flower." He continued. I nodded, smiling at the thought. He smiled, hugging me once more.
