Chapter 8

"Hey Carrie !" He said with a smile.

"Hey Tyler" I said and I couldn't hide my grin"

"Come sit over here guys! "

I walked over to him, he sat around the middle back of the classroom I sat at a desk right next to him, Hayley followed and sat next to me.

"Today's been exhausting" he said as he stretched his arms

He wasn't wearing his suit jacket anymore just his long sleeve white collar shirt and tie. I couldn't help but check him out while he stretched, you could see his biceps through his shirt, his Dark brown hair really made his green eyes stand out.

"Yea it really has been a long day.. so have you made any more friends besides Hayley and I? "

"Oh yea I managed to make a few in some of my classes everyone here seems pretty nice so far"

He then completely turned himself towards me, sitting at his desk sideways.

"But guys.. "
He leaned in closer to me and with his pointer finger he signaled to get closer with a low concerned voice and said.

"The guys from the football team have some bad habits that I don't wanna be a part of.. " he said in a whisper.

"You mean that they smoke weed? " Hayley asked not phased at all.

Most of the guy's In the football, basketball and baseball teams loved to party, drink and smoke and I'm guessing Adam told Tyler all the "Fun" they would have.

"I'm really starting to question if I want to join any teams that's just not my thing "

"Then don't join any" I whispered he was leaning so close that I could smell his Cologne he was just staring at me scanning me with his eyes I did the same and I hadn't noticed until now the tiny freckles that layed under his eyes and cheeks.

"I won't " he said with a grin

"You could always join something else other than a sport, Carrie and I write for the newspaper here at school " Hayley said in a loud whisper
"Wait why are we still whispering?"

I giggled as Hayley said that because there was loud chatter and people we're still entering the classroom. I guess Tyler was uncomfortable talking about the team's habbits but I'm glad that he takes school matters seriously.

"Yea you should definitely join our journalism club"

"You know what I will!" He said excitedly.

"Cool " I said and I smiled.

"Good evening class!"
We all looked up and directed our attention towards the teacher, Tyler turned in his seat.

"My name is Mr. Collins I will be your teacher this year for English Honors I will also be teaching this year for Journalism club after school since Mrs. Bailey retired, if you're interested make sure to grab a sign up sheet before you leave you can later turn it into to me. I'm sure you guys will be my favorite class since its the last of the day don't tell any of the other classes by the way..

The whole class laughed.

"I consider myself to be a pretty cool teacher I'm sure we will all get along as long as we do what we're supposed to do. I'll allow talking while you work quietly but please do not talk while I'm speaking"

Mr. Collins seemed pretty cool he looks like he's in his forty's he told us what we'd learn about this year. He even spoke about his wife and kids He did a pretty good job at introducing himself so we'd be comfortable with him.

The bell rang and it was finally time to go home.

"Do you guys need a lift home?"

"I'm going to take the school bus home but I'm sure Carrie does need a ride" Hayley winked at me and walked away.

"Alright I'll take you home"

Wow I'm going to kill Hayley haha they didn't give me the chance to decide although I'm not gonna complain I've been enjoying Tyler's company. I never take the school bus home anyways I like to walk from my house to the coffee shop then to school. School's not that close to my house but it's not that far either but I enjoy the routine and the walk.

"Okay " I said and felt a blush creep through my cheeks

I grabbed my bag and swung it on my shoulder we walked towards the door I was ahead of Tyler I waited for him as he stopped to talk to Mr. Collins

"Where'd you say the sign up sheets were for Journalism club?"

Mr. Collins reached for a sheet from a stack of papers and handed it to Tyler.

"Ah here you go"

"Thanks Mr. Collins"

"Yall have a great day" he looked at us both and smiled.

"You too!" Tyler and I said at the same time.

We walked out together and Tyler leaned close over to me and in a low voice said "Jinx you owe me soda"

"What kind of soda do you like?" I said in a giggle.

Tyler put his thumb and pointer finger on his chin
"Hmmm.. I want a Dr. Pepper"

"Alright I'll get you one "

"And I'll be waiting " he said with a smirk.

We walked down the hall and everyone was rushing out of school and getting their things out of their lockers.

"I need to get my jacket from my locker. "

"Alright"

We walked over to his locker and I watched as he got a little piece of paper from his pocket and moved the dial on the lock.

"Heyyy new guy"

I turned and there was Victoria. Greatttt.

"Hey what's up " Tyler said still trying to unlock his locker.

Victoria leaned on the side next to Tyler's locker
"Are we going to hang out later?"

"Umm actually I'm going to hang out with Carrie and take her home maybe some other time?.."

She looked at me up and down while she chewed her gum loudly, she rolled her eyes at me.

"Ok catch you later then" She turned and walked away.

I couldnt help but roll my eyes back at her. She spoke a thousand words with that look that she just gave me.

"Alright" Tyler said as he got his locker to open.

He took out his Jacket from his locker and closed it.

"Alright let's go"
