"Hi honey ! how was your first day of school ? " she said as I walked into the living room

"It was good mom sorry I came a bit late I had lunch with a new friend. "

"Is it a boy?"

"How do you know?" I said a bit confused

"Oh honey you came in with the biggest smile on your face "

"I could of been smiling about something else .. like "

"Carrie Marie Gonzalez I've known you for 17 years " she said as she got up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen.

I followed her to the kitchen. "You caught me mom"

"I wanna meet this boy"

"Mom I just met him and were only friends"

"Invite him over as a friend then" she winked.

"Mom!"

"You can bring Hayley too and we'll all eat dinner together"

"Okay mom I'll see.. "

"You know honey I met your father in high school"

"Yea mom you and dad have told the story like a million times"

"Not all guys are going to be like Eric honey"

That name automatically made me cringe Eric was the first guy who ever took me out and he was my first kiss. He never made me his girlfriend but we went out for only three months I was never enough for him I guess.. he was always acting shady and one day I just got tired.

He had taken me to McDonald's for lunch and the whole time he was talking to a girl that worked there all I did was observe I wasn't about to make a scene but he was obviously flirting with her in front of me. Long story short that was the last time I saw him. My parents were extremely disappointed especially because on my first date he had sworn to them that he wasn't like other guys and that he wanted something serious with me.

Since then I've always told myself that a good guy wont say he's a good guy to me or my parents.. but actually prove it. I honestly think that Eric just said he had good intentions because deep down he knew he didn't. What bugged me the most was that at first I thought he was different, I genuinely thought we could of become something great. I lost myself a bit,  I lost my first kiss to guy who didn't even think of making it special.

I was a bit late in the game yes a seventeen year old that's never been kissed. Until Eric of course and when he did its was weird he was picking me up for a date and I had just gotten in his car and when I was putting on the seat belt he gave me a pop kiss I was caught off guard and I just stared at him. I was a bit disappointed and I didn't like it at all.. Maybe it was because I didn't like him enough. Every time he wanted to kiss me I pulled away and I just didn't like it. I always envisioned kissing to be different.

"Yea I know mom but I think I wanna be alone for awhile I don't wanna get hurt or get stressed out again."

"Honey there's going to be a lot of bad fishes before you get to your prince you can't let one bad fish ruin your idea of love If you like this guy give him a chance okay honey.

"Alright mom thanks"

I headed upstairs and I knew I had to tell Hayley and Nick about my outing with Tyler or they'd kill me.
