After a while we had arrived at a place called the Tower, located in The Last City. Now I don't know what went down between now and when I died, but things certainly were not as run down when I died as they are now. Cars were flooding the ancient roads and highways, everything is rusted and destroyed, building overtaken by vines and plants.
Basically everything is shit.
So! Onto the Tower.
Once again I was transmatted out of my ship and onto the balcony looking thing. Ghost appeared next to me and said "Let's go and meet the Vanguard, they're in the Hall of Guardians."
"And that is where?" I asked, confused at to why Ghost would think that I automatically know where everything is. No answer. "Fine. Be that way then. Guess I'll just look around."
Up ahead there were a few steps leading into a plaza sort of area that was surrounded by walls on three sides. There was a building off to the left, a little shack kind of thing on the right, these three pilar looking things in front of the shack, passageways leading to other parts of the Tower on the far left and far right. Up ahead a ways was an entrance to something, blocked off by panel looking things, and also up ahead was a flight of stairs leading down.
'I'm gonna take a guess and say that's where the Hall of Guardians is.' I thought as I made my way to the stairs. I passed by a few others, who I presume are other so-called Guardians. Some would give me confused and others would give me a disgusted look. I was just confused why they were looking at me like that. As I entered the Hall I saw another person with white and orange colored armor and a mech unit behind a counter and computer. Suddenly I heard something from behind me.
"Welcome, Guardian." They said. I spun around to meet a woman with a cloth around her eyes, three glowing circles two of which were leaking black stuff. They were holding a transparent flaming orb, and inside said orb was a rock, a unique looking rock if I might say.
"Um, hi?" I replied unsure.
"I am Eris Morn. I hope that you will help push back the Darkness."
"Um, thanks, I guess." I'll be honest, I was a bit uncertain of this person. But they did look like they went through hell and back, so I gotta give them that. "I'll uh, see you later, I guess." I said as I waved to her and continued my journey through the Hall.
Down the hall was a room with three people in front of a table; an exo on the left, an awoken far center, and a human on the right. The awoken noticed me and started introductions.
"You must be the new Guardian we heard about." I nodded my head as I didn't want to offend anyone by asking why they were looking at me the way they were. "Welcome," he continued, "to the Tower, Guardian. I am Commander Zavala. This," he motioned to the exo, "is Cayde-6. And this," he motioned to the human, "is Ikora Rey."
The exo, Cayde-6, looked at me and held out his hand. "Nice meeting you Guardian."
I shook his hand, saying "Just call me Raythe." In the background I saw Zavala and Ikora look at each other but Cayde-6 nodded his head.
"Raythe it is, then. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been told that you want to keep your current armor?" He asked questionably.
I nodded. "This armor got me through several battles and quite a few sticky situations. I also made it myself."
Ikora spoke up next. "You made your armor from scratch?" I nodded. "We've never had that happen before."
"How good is it?" Cayde asked.
Shrugging my shoulders I said "Oh, it can take down an Archon in one punch."
Silence. That was what took hold over the room at that moment.
Breaking the silence Zavala asked "Do you, have anything to prove that statement?"
I shrugged. "I have its head."
The Vanguard looked between each other before Zavala held out his hand and said "Welcome to the Tower, Guardian."
I'm sorry for the delay! This chapter is long overdue, and I really don't have an excuse for it. I read a bit more than I write, and I'm usually on my Xbox for a few hours. I'll try to update more often but I have a crappy memory so I'll do my best.
