Back on where we left..

"Missed me, cara?"All of the blood drained off my face. Oh no. This can't be happening. I didn't run away just to get caught. Oh god! Why? All of this was too good to be true. I should've known he would find me anyways. But how did he find me? I did almost everything to keep myself hidden.
I might be hallucinating? God, please let this be one stupid and mindless hallucination. But seeing him standing casually by my doorframe with his Armani grey suit, removed every doubt of this being a figment of my imagination.
His husky voice brought me out of my haze, "You know what cara, keeping your guests standing for so long is not actually considered as a good ethic." He said with his sexy smirk and I literally died by the sight of it. Wai- what? Snap out of it Alessandra. This is the same man who hurt you back in the hospital. This man's heart is as hard as nails.
Gaining back my senses, I tried to shut the door as hastily as I could, but ofcourse, his reflexes had to be fast enough to bring his foot in between before the door could shut. Damn him and his well-built body.
Walking inside as if he owned the place he sat on the queen-sized bed and said, "Incase you're wondering Miss Cassidy, you forgot to change your mobile number. It wasn't hard tracking you down. Your mind really turned dumb after you dyed your hair blonde."
Oh shoot. Why did I have to forget the most important thing? Did I really get that dumb? Arghh.. He is making me doubt my intelligence by his snarky remark. If this dialogue was exchanged in some kind of movie, I would've laughed hysterically. But this was me he was talking about at this moment.
Looking at me without any emotion, he continued, "You should've taken my threat seriously." His gaze intimidated me, but I refused to give him the pleasure of knowing that.
"I did. I just.. didn't care." I shrugged nonchalantly as if it didn't matter. I've been acting like a hypocrite all this time. Saying I don't care if my father was brought to his knees when I actually did. I couldn't bring myself to hate- no- I won't use hate. Hate is a strong word. I couldn't bring myself to not like him. Despite of what he did to me, he was still my father. He may've forgotten my place in his life, but I didn't. Seeing Christian here, brought back the regret of running away. The same regret I felt yesterday, thinking what Christian would do to him after he knows of my disappearance.
Raising his perfect eyebrows, he took out his Iphone 7 from his pocket and started messing with it. What was he doing? Smiling a wicked smile, as if he found what he was looking for, he handed his phone to me after saying something like, "We'll see about that."
Taking his phone with my shaking hands, I was greeted with a video. It was some kind of NEWS. No. It wasn't some kind of news. It was about the bankruptcy that took place in father's company. Oh god. No. Running to the night stand, I grabbed the remote of the television and turned it on. Every NEWS channel said the same thing. "Robert Gideon bankrupt." This is all my fault. Fuck you, Alessandra. Masking my horrified expression, I turned back to Christian.
"Sooo... changed your mind?" He asked. Once again, raising his perfect eyebrow. Stop calling his eyebrows perfect!
With the clearance of throat and raising of my chin, I said with as much certainty I could summon up, "No."
He eyed me skeptically. "Sure you didn't. Give me my phone back, which you seem to be clutching on as if your life depended on it."
Looking down on my hands, I realized that he was right. I really was holding onto his phone as if my life depended on it. Ashamed, I gave him his phone back.
Dialing some number, he put the phone by his ear, "Gale. We've got to bankrupt Mr. Gideon with a double-"
Before he could finish off I rushed out, "No! Stop! I'll marry you. I'll marry you." The last one came out as a whisper.
He looked at me with a smirk and said, "Very well then." Returning back to his call, he spoke, "Ignore my call Gale. You can go back to whatever you were doing."
"Sit down." He patted the space beside him. Instead of taking up on his offer, I sat on a doughnut looking couch. He smirked again. Why does this man keep smirking? No doubt his smirk made him look hot but I was really getting annoyed now. I wish I could permanently wipe it off his face.
"Before you say something. Can I ask you a question?" Urging me to continue, I asked him what's been bothering me, "Why do you want to marry me?"
"Isn't that obvious? I wasn't lying when I said I will make your life a living hell. Marrying you would only make it alot more easier for me to do so. Besides, you don't deserve the happiness that some other guy could give you. That's what you get for killing my baby." His eyes had a steely gaze once he finished.
I winced. That was harsh but I made sure of hiding all my emotions from him. I nodded, "I know that. But I believe there's something more. You have your own reasons too."
"Wow. I am impressed by your observatory skills. I will give you that. Well, let's just say I also want you to be my pretend wife. Wife in front of the audience, and a hostage behind the curtains." Pretend wife? What the fuck? And why does he even need a pretend wife?
"Why do you need a pretend wife?" I vocalized my thoughts.
"You ask too many questions for your own good." He ignored my question. Real mature, Christian. Real mature. "Anyways, we need to make a contract. Of what you do, what not you do. Stuff like that."
"A contract? Are you serious? You can't control me, Anderson!" I all but yelled at him.
"But that's the point of all this, cara." He smiled menacingly.
Sighing, I surrendered. I had to give in. One way or another. You owe me big time, father.
"Get me a paper and pen, cara." I turned around but was called again. "And sandy, blonde doesn't suit you."
Sandy? Really? Scowling at him, I jumped off to get this exasperating man's ass a fucking notepad. *sigh* I knew my death was coming soon.
