(P.S. That's what our bride wears in her little wedding. Isn't it simple yet enagaging? 😍)
___________I was just lying on the bed, crying my silent tears, when a sound of repeated knocks reached my ears. Getting up, I wiped my tears away and opened the door after managing a fake smile. However, it got replaced by a genuine one once I saw Kristina's gleeful face.
"Hi! You're here. I didn't know it was six already."
"It isn't. Change of plans. You're getting ready in this very room. Going to a salon is a waste of time, you're pretty just the way you are! Like, just see yourself in the mirror. Yes, it was me who suggested taking you there but, whatever." Shrugging at me, she made her way inside, leaving me at the door. This woman was really weird. But I don't know, she gave me a good vibe. Why haven't I met such people while I was here? Oh right. I was into isolation.
My eyes fell on the shopping bags in her hands. "What's in those?"
I asked."This, honey, is your wedding dress and the killer heels to go with them." She grinned.
"Well that's great 'cause I was literally dying thinking I would have to get married in a dress made of leaves." I said sarcastically.
"Ha ha. That was so funny. I died laughing." She deadpanned. "Sarcasm is not made for you."
"And here I thought I was getting better." I wiped my fake tears, causing her to erupt in laughter.
"You woman, are something else. I wonder since when Christian started having such a great taste. I've met Christian's past conquests and let's just say they were... dumb bimbos." she gagged, before adding, "Your sister though, I liked her. When I first saw her, I thought she'd be one of those clingy kind of woman, but she was way better than the others. I approved of her but still, I never considered her as the one for him. She was a good person though. I am really sorry for your loss, Alley." Her voice dripping with sincerity.
"It's fine. I am dealing with it." I smiled at her.
"Now, this is getting really emotional. Let's just save the tears for later. Better get you ready for your wedding."
"Marriage. It's not a wedding. It's a marriage." I stated flatly. I don't know why but I had a serious urge to correct her. As if understanding what I meant, Kristina walked closer to me and hugged me tight, while a tear fell down my eye.
Pulling back she looked at me in the eye and said, "Listen Alley, I don't know the reason of why Christian wants his ex-fiancé's sister to marry him but all I do know is that he needs to get married before tomorrow. If Jordan gets the company, it won't be good. That man is as lazy as a sloth. All he do cares for, is money and girls. If the company falls into his hands, he'll destroy it. And by destroy, I don't mean destroy destroy. I mean, he would just use the money for his pleasure and won't make a step in progressing it. The company is the only thing left of Christian's father and being his not-blood-related-sister but still a sister, I really want him to have it and you're helping him. I really appreciate you helping him. Look, I know this marriage is out of love, but who knows, you guys may find love in each other within the passage of time? Call it a gut feeling, but I can see your future with him. I can see you as his future." After a while, she added, "I really wish for this marriage to work just like mine did."
"What do you mean? Didn't you and Nicholas love each other?" I asked quizzically.
"Let's just say that our marriage wasn't really planned. It was in February, eight months back. A night in Miami. He was there for his meeting while I was for an alone time. Bad break-up, you know? Anyways, the bar, got drunk, danced like maniacs, one thing led to another leading to a passionate night. I woke up and viola- there's a ring on my left hand and on his too. I felt so, I don't know, I wanted to scream till I run out of my voice. I never expected to get married the next day after being heart broken by the douchebag I thought I loved. It was devastating but the thing is, even after marrying Nicholas by accident, none of us did mention the divorce. It felt like our hearts were made for each other. They were connected. And now, here we are happily married, smitten by each other, and with a kid on the way." She smiled a wide smile, leaving a gasp from my mouth.
