CHASE’s POV:

 

If only I could turn back time, I would.

If only I could keep on replaying those precious moments with her, I would.

If she’ll let me in again, I would.

But no matter how I think about it now, it all remains a dream to me. A dream that has been a part of me.

Only if I had known that this would end like this, back then I would tell her every day that she means the world to me. I would never give her the reason to regret on choosing me like what she’s doing right now. I would never let anyone harm her. I would always kiss her pain away. I would always make her happy.

If only.

God has given me options. And between those options, no matter how I would like to be with her, it would both end up losing her. I know that I never completely become a good person in my past, but do I really deserve to be away with the one I love?

This is the perfect definition of life is being unfair.

Unfair that you can never be with the one you deserve to be with.

Unfair that you can never let her feel that you are itching to make her feel your love.

Unfair that you love to spend the rest of your life with her and only her.

Unfair that your soulmate has finally starting a life without you in it.

I stopped the engine as we finally arrive in our destination. I studied her face and smiled at the thought of having her close to me even though seconds ago, she was deeply hurt because of me. “Sam, we’re here.”  I calmly tapped her shoulder.

She was peacefully sleeping at the shotgun seat and slowly, her eyes met mine. “Oh..” Her eyes went wide after seeing me close to her. She was practically panicking at her seat while she was still wearing her seatbelt.

“Here, let me.” I offered to take off the thing on her.

As it was carefully untied on her side, she grabbed her bag fast and decided to stoop down the car. My reflexes were too fast for my liking that it took me a few seconds to get a grip of her and I hugged her for the last time.

“Sorry about-” I whispered in her ear.

“You don’t have to.” She cut me off angrily. “We both know that we are both done. We both know what we did back there was terribly wrong. We’re just taken over by our emotions. Having close with each other do not make us any good. Really, our time is over.”  She fired back closely in my ear and she didn’t even bother touching me.

“Please don’t do this to me, Sam.” I pleaded as I cupped her face.

She was holding back her tears as she was giving me a dead expression. Her cold gaze met mine. “Chase, mas ‘wag mong gawin sa’kin ‘to. Is 2 years of being miserable isn’t enough for you? Is 2 years of being lifeless without you isn’t fair? Hindi pa ba sapat na sa mahabang panahon at hanggang sa ngayon sinusundan ako nang sarili kong multo dahil lang sa kakaisip sa kung anong nangyari sayo? At ano? Dalawang taon Chase, mas higit pa nga kung tutuusin mo. Alam mo bang napakalaki ng kagustuhan kong makahingi ng lintik na sagot sayo pero wala akong mahita kundi ang punyetang sorry mo?”

She gritted her teeth and continued. “Is this even how you say you’re sorry?”  Her eyebrows meet in frustration. “Saying sorry without the answers I’m asking you will not resolve anything. If this is what you want, I’m giving you this. Sabi mo nga diba mas okay ‘to, sabi mo nga mas maayos ‘to, kaya etong ibibigay ko sayo. Tama na Chase. Tapos na tayo.”
