I turned off my camera and got on my computer so I could edit my vlog for tomorrow.
About halfway through my editing, Skype popped up over my page. My boyfriend was calling me because he is getting on a plane tonight to come see me. Face to face for the very first time.
We met over YouTube when he became one of my first subscribers. Then I saw one of his videos and he was hilarious so I subscribed back.
Then we followed each other on social media before he DMed me. Then eventually we texted. Then face timed. Then Skyped. Then he asked me out and we have been dating for two years. Yeah. I don't go to conventions usually. Neither does he. And when we do were never at the same one as each other.
I answered his call. It took a moment to load because he is calling from Minnesota and I live in New York.
"Hey babe!" Slowly his face appeared.
"Hi Toby."
"What are you up to?"
"Editing a vid."
"Cool. I just watched your vid from today."
"What are you doing?"
"Packing. Well, finishing."
"When does your plane leave?"
"Three hours. Well, two hours and forty minutes."
"Oh. So you will get here in like-"
"Five hours. About."
"AH! I can't wait!"
"The first thing we are going to do though is sleep. Cause it's going to be late!"
"Yea. Like three in the morning."
He laughed at me as I pouted.
"Hey, think of it this way. Only five more hours before we can hold hands for the first time. Hug for the first time. Kiss for the first time. Cuddle for the first time-"
"I get it! But that made it worse. Now I wanna see you right now!"
"Awe. Don't worry lily. Only five more hours." I dropped my head on my desk.
"You better text me before you get to the airport. When you're on the plane. And before you land. So I can pick you up."
"Okay babe. Now finish editing and get some sleep. I will see you in five hours."
"I don't wanna sleeeeep!"
"Sleep anyway so your not driving to the airport half asleep."
"Fine."
"I love you lily."
"I love you too Toby."
He hung up and I pulled up my editing page again. I sighed. As I sat. All alone. In my lonely apartment. In the middle of the city. All by myself.
