Lela's POV;
"Heyy~"
"Oh, hey."
"How are ya?"
"Fine. You?"
"Tired." I laughed. I didn't know what to say. She wasn't acting like herself. "Are you okay?"
"What? Sorry I was just..."
She was looking at him again. Why did I get so... angry. I don't know. Maybe it's nothing. It's just that... he doesn't deserve her. He's a dick bag anyway. A player. He'll probably try and get her in bed then ditch her after, if she slept with him or not. She deserves better. What ever. I don't have a say.
"Are. You. Ok?"
"Oh. Yeah no I'm fine."
"Ok. Good... We should start walking?"
"Yea just a sec." She starts to walk towards him. "Go without me. I'll meet you there."
"Wait! We don't have the next class together!"
"What? What are you talking about? We have English now."
"No I have to go to the auditorium to help Sam. You have lunch. And we don't even have English together. I have honors remember?"
"Oh yea. I have English and lunch with him~"
"Yea. See ya later."
"Bye."
~Timmy Time Skip~
"Hey Lela!"
"Oh. Hey Sam. How's the editing going?"
"Eh. Slow but steady. You ok?"
"Yea I'm fine. Let's get this over with shall we?"
"No your not. I know you too well. You love recording. What's wrong."
I sigh. He really does know me too well.
"It's Elizabeth. She is all over him again!"
"Well tell her! Then she won't be all over him. She'll be all over you... Wait. That sounded weirder out loud than in my head..." He laughs.
"But she's straight! She would never go for me."
"You don't know she's straight! Have you asked her? She could be bisexual like you!"
"I doubt that. Let's get recording! I like this song!"
"Fine but if you don't tell her I will."
I walked to the front row of seats in the auditorium and plopped my bag next to Sam's. I untied my hoodie from my waist and placed it over my bag. I jumped on the stage and stood in front of the microphone already waiting for me.
I cleared my throat and nodded to Sam in the back. He pressed some buttons and the beginning of the rehearsed song started to play.
Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara
"She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we've made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
'Cause cover girls don't cry after their face is madeBut there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know your beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world can change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-
And you don't have to change a thing
The world can change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautifulShe has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
You know cover girls eat nothing
She says 'Beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything'
'What's a little bit of hunger'
'I can go a little while longer,' she fades away
She don't see her perfect, she don't understand she's worth it
All that beauty goes deeper than the surface
Oh-oh
So to all the girls that's hurting
Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer
The light that shines withinThere's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know your beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world can change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-
And you don't have to change a thing The world can change its heartNo better you than the you that you are
(No better you than the you that you are)
No better life than the life we're living
(No better life than the life we're living)
No better time for your shine, your a star
(No better time for your shine, your a star)
Oh, your beautiful, oh your beautifulAnd there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know your beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world can change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-
And you don't have to change a thing
The world can change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful.""Whoop whoop! Nice one! Definitely adding that song to our project!" Sam was yelling at me from the other side of the auditorium.
"What's next?" I ask into the microphone.
"This!" Sam started to run down the aisle towards me. I sat at the edge of the stage as he handed me a paper with a short speech on it. I read it over once and watched as Sam ran back. "How bout you read it aloud once and then I play the background music and then we'll try them together?"
"Let's go for it."

Elizabeth usually meets me by our busses but she isn't here. I walked back into the school and wandered around looking for her. I finally found her in her last period class sitting alone in tears.
"Hey."
She sniffled. "Hey I was just about to head out..."
"Don't bother you can drive yourself home remember?"
"Lela?"
"Yeah?"
"He- he has a girlfriend!" She sobbed again.
"Who? Samantha still? Or Sandra again? Or Kendra, Paige, Lyla, Makayla, Michele, Rachel, the other Rachel, all four Rebecca's-"
"No... Kelsey. I hate her... now."
"Elizabeth. I told you he was no good he's dated like every girl in the school!"
"But-"
"No buts! Find someone better. Someone who has been standing in front of you for years!"
"Ok. Fine." She pulled her phone out and called someone.
"Hey. Matt? Yea it's Elizabeth. Yea. Uh huh. I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date? Yea! Cool! See ya then. Bye."
"That's not what I meant!" I whacked her arm.
"I gotta go get ready for a date. See ya Lela!"
"Wait-! Your my ride..." She was already gone.
I called Sam.
"Hey Sam. Yeah she did. Matt this time. Yeah. I give up on her I think. I have someone else in mind I guess. Yeah. No a guy this time. Of corse im not acting like her! No I've liked him for awhile. I've just been blinded by her. Do you mind picking me up? From the school. Yeah she left me here. Alone. Cool thanks. Oh and Sam? Wanna, I dunno, hang out later?" I could hear Sam screaming through the phone as I pulled it away from my ear.
"Jeez Sammy! Yeah, like a date? Awesome. See you in a few." I laughed at his enthusiasm.
What I told Elizabeth was true I guess. There was someone standing right in front of me.
