I woke up in the middle of the night to my lower half wet.
"Ruby." I say and shake her awake.
"What baby?" She asks and I grab her hand, "she's coming?" I say and she pops her eyes open, and stands up.
She puts on some jeans and a white T shirt before putting her boots on. I slide my TOMS on and she helps me up.
As were in the car I start to get contractions, "Ruby it hurts." I say as I lay my head back on the head rest and she grabs my hand, "I know baby, but it will all be worth it. She's going to be our healthy baby." She said and kissed my forehead.
We get to the hospital, "help my wife is in labor." She yelled and the nurses rushed over to me.
"Let her come!!" I yell and Ruby grabbed my hand.
"I'm here baby." She says and the doctor says, "put her right in the delivery room." He said and they turned the corner and told Ruby to leave because she wasn't a parent.
"She is a parent. Let her in." I say with a glare and they nod and let her in.
"Okay time to push." He says and I push.
"Ruby I can't do it." I say exhausted.
"Baby you have to, come on, don't you want to give her Advice." She says and sits me up.
"Meet your new baby girl." The doctor says and holds her up.
"She's beautiful." Ruby says as they hand our daughter to her.
"She came outta me, she is pretty." I joke and they laugh.
"Look baby." Ruby says and then puts the baby in my hands.
"Ruby would you like to be counted as her parent?" I ask and she kisses my head and nods.
"What's her name?" The doctor asks and I say, "Ava Marie Langenhiem."
Rubys head pops up and says, "are you sure?"
"Of course." I say and Ruby smiles and brings her lips on mine.
"Pretty name." He says and I nod.
"I'm tired." I say which made Ruby laugh.
"Go to sleep love." She says and I lay my head on her shoulder as the baby went to sleep.
"I love you." I say and she kisses my head.
"I love you too princess." She says and I finally fall asleep.
