Chapter 1

     It was the first day of high school, Talia dreaded having to go, she put on her ripped jeans, her long sleeve Of Mice and Men band tee shirt on and, her high tops. She brushed her teeth and her hair and headed down stairs only to find her mom passed out drunk on the couch once again.
    Talia took a deep breath and released a strong exhale as she shook her head and put her backpack down and started picking up the empty alcohol bottles and covers her mother up, as she looks at the clock she sees that she's late for her class, she runs out the door and runs to school, when she finally makes it she's out of breath, her porcaline skin dripping with sweat, her bright blue eyes are dull and now her hair is a mess.
    She tries to sneak into class sitting down in the back of the class without the teacher noticing. She wipes her face with her sleeve as she reaches for her book the boy next to her, Leon, sees her scars and cuts as she doesn't realize he's looking as she pulls her sleeve back down. The boy continues to stare at her but now with a sad look in his eyes, she glances over as he looks away quickly, the bell rings and she continues her day through school just like every year, hiding her arms, staying silent, and hoping the monster preps don't notice her.
    The day ends as she starts to walk home, the boy walking a few steps behind her not knowing he lives just a few houses down. She looks behind her and freaks out Why are you following me?! She said panicked. Leon in dark clothing and white hair, stayed silent as he got closer to her, she turned and started running away from him and walked into her house breathing heavily.
Talia! Her mother yelled, where the hell have you been you little bitch?! And where is my dinner at! Her mother screamed as she got closer to Talia's bedroom door, Talia panicked and sat up on her bed knowing what would happen.
   Her mother busted open the door and threw beer bottles at her as they shattered on her wall and once sliced her cheek, she clinched her jaw not touching it. Mom I was just getting ready to cook I'm sorry I took to long go sit down and I'll have it ready, Talia proclaimed hoping her mom would calm down. Her mom went to sit on the couch as Talia stopped her school work and started dinner.
    Her mother ate then went upstairs to get dressed and went out on the town. Talia sighed and walked back up to her bedroom she yawned and laid down in bed and fell asleep.
    When she had awoke her mother still wasn't home so she hurried and got ready for school and left. She got there on time for once, she felt this was going to be a good day until Leon followed her into class, Leon had followed her home the day before and she was so weirded out it wasn't even funny. She ran out of class and down to the bathroom and hid.
     The bell had rung and she thought she was safe til she walked out to see him waiting for her. She went to scream for help when he stopped her, I seen your scars... Why did you do that to your porcaline skin? Leon proclaimed sadly. She looked around scared and grabbed her arm in a panic as she started to breath faster and everything got blurry and she felt dizzy.
    Talia had passed out. When she awoke Leon was sitting next to her waiting. Are you okay? He asked worried. The nurse said you had an anxiety attack. He said to her calmly. Talia screamed at him JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! she got up and stormed out rushing home only to find her mother in a bad mood.
Oh no, Talia mumbled scarcely as her mother came towards her with a broken bottle. Mom no! Talia screamed as her mother punched her and pinned her to the ground slicing her with the beer bottle. You like this don't you, whore!! Talia's mother screamed at her while Talia pleaded and cried. Her mother continued for hours until Talia stopped crying and moving then went upstairs to sleep.
     Talia laid on the floor sobbing and tried to get up and go to her room. She finally got there and went to sleep, she hasn't shown up to school for a week now and every day Leon looked for her 'til finally he got the courage and knocked on her door, he got no answer so he walked to her window, still no answer. He was puzzled, where could she be? One day she woke up from her nap and looked out her window to see him sitting there. She was furious but instead of being mean she simply asked, why do you keep following me like you know me? Leon then replied with a smile, because I know something is going on and I want to be your friend, I don't want you to hurt, be that it may that I don't know you, doesn't mean you need to hurt by yourself. Talia was shocked by his words and closed her window.
    The next day Talia went to school with bruises and the cuts still all over her, Leon seen her and walked up to her, she stopped him and said I'll give you a shot, let's be friends I guess, Leon was so happy he hugged her, she clinched her jaw and wanted to drop.
