All It Took Was 1 Blink

We plop our food onto the table. It's lunch time, my least favorite part of the day. Everyone begins eating their lunch while I pull out 1 thing. A slice of cold pizza from last night. This is the quietest we have been all day, during all the classes we have been talking non stop. Jullian is pretty involved in our group. Jullian told us about himself. He lived in a huge city across the country with his parents. He went to a huge school but yet had no people he could call his friends. One day not to long ago he was kicked out of his house and forced to live with his grandparents who live here. He says that he is super happy to be here because he loves the forest and the small town style. But he thinks it's so funny that our town is so small that we don't even have stop lights we only have stop signs. Leon then said his story. He used to live in a town not to far from this one but one day they moved here because his dad wanted to work at a smaller school, his dad is the PE teacher, so he came here about 9 years ago. Annie then tells us that she was born in another country, which is true! She moved here when she was 2 yeas old so sadly she doesn't remember what it's like in that country but her whole family, except her parents and younger sister, lives over there and she is not allowed to visit them. Then it was my turn. I explain that unlike everyone else I have always lived here. My family has lived here since ancient times. In fact they lived in the same property that we live at now! My grandparents died in battle against... they died that's the point. So I have no connecting family anymore except my parents and Bane and his wife. Sadly there is way more to this story then I am telling. I begin to munch on my cold pizza and Annie and Leon are arguing about which order the plot goes in a show we all watch. Jullian is listing while probably thinking we are insane. Then I interrupt their couple arguing and say,"Your both wrong. He quits and joins the council because the council wanted all 10 saints on the council. Maki doesn't show up and the reason they want all 10 is because the last council was whipped out so easily. There ya go." Then I take another bit of pizza. Jullian stares at me in amazement. Annie and Leon say together,"That's Aysel for ya!" Then they laugh together. Annie adds on,"She's super good at remembering things like this." Leon says,"No one could ever beat her." I laugh and say,"You liars. There is always someone better. Annie is a goddess when it comes to memorizing things!" Annie says,"Yea scripts and stuff but you memorized A WHOLE BOOK SERIES!!" I laugh and an argument begins between Annie and me. Jullian and Leon break the argument by laughing so hard. Jullian then asks,"So you said something about memorizing scripts. Do you guys do theater?" Leon answers,"Yea we are just about to do our next play in 2 months." Annie continues,"Leon isn't in this one since it's just the first half of the play but I'm in it." He smiles and says,"That's amazing I wanna do the next one with you guys! So what is the plot and who plays the main character?" I answer,"Annie and Leon have the 2 lead spots because they are AMAZING at acting! It's about a young girl who likes to be destructive. Her life gets turned in the opposite direction and she gets stuck in a castle. And Leon pops up later, it's a really long thing it's actually multiple plays, like a series, and we just began." Annie laughs and says,"Aysel literally looks like the main character I have no clue how I ended up with the lead! Aysel would be so much better!" I laugh and say,"It's because your a great actress and you and Leon have good stage chemistry. And besides I'm not doing this play." Leon and Annie say at the same time,"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!?!" Jullian and I laugh and once we catch our breath I say,"There is no one in this town that would be a good love interest with me and besides I suck at acting." Leon and Annie laugh once more and Annie says,"Those are both lies! You are not bad at acting and you would be such a good love interest with A-" I interrupt,"I thought I told you to let that go! WE HARDLY EVER TALK!" Jullian asks,"Who is this A person." Leon is laughing his head off and I stand up and say in a scary tone,"IS SOMETHING FUNNY LEON?!" He keeps laughing and slides under his chair. He does this every time we threaten him or try to tickle him. Annie says,"His name is Austin and he is also a part of our theater program thingy. Him and Aysel talk all the time backstage!" I reply,"Annie just wants me to date him which I never intend to do." Not that I have a choice. The punishment for dating a human is horrible! It makes me shudder just thinking of it. But I am good friends with Austin and I will admit we do talk a lot but that means nothing. Leon bursts out,"What about that guy from the end of last show? He always comes to our shows and last time we caught Aysel and him hugging." I interject before anyone can say anything,"I DO NOT LIKE HIM! I don't like anyone in this town! Or in this world! But Edo that's a different story. Anyway Aalto and I are just friends from preschool I never see him like ever!" Annie says,"Really? You had to sneak an Edo joke in there and I know that you and Aalto are just friends it's Leon that doesn't believe it! And either way you have never had a crush on ANYONE! You little sissy missy have a frozen heart!" Jullian looks at me and says,"What's Edo?" I reply,"It's a thing from our show and Annie I have never had a crush and I don't intend to get one soon despite of what you might think." Not only can I not date humans but I'm not the type of girl that people fall in love with. That stuff is to mushy, I personally like adventure much more then romance. Get me a guy who can get us almost killed on a weekly basis and then I will think about dating. I look at Jullian and say,"Hey every Friday Annie Leon and I have a sleepover at someone's house and this week it's at mine so how about you join us and our crazy group?" He smiles at me and says,"I would love to be your guys friend and you guys have to show me your show so I can understand all the gibberish you are saying." And in the blink of an eye Jullian became my new best friend.
