August A.

"Stop doing that." I laughed at Malorie and Brelle.

Malorie was playing Peek-A-Boo with her and every time she'd give Mal a stank look.

"Her face is priceless." she laughed before kissing her forehead.

Jace walked into the living room with his cleats on making Mal cringe.

"Jace, get the hell out of here with those dirty cleats on my white carpet." she said. I could tell she wanted to say more but instead just left it there.

He sighed loudly before standing up and mumbling something while walking away.

"What was that?" Mal called out.

"Nothing." he mumbled with attitude clear in his voice.

"That damn boy is gone make me lose my mind." she scoffed sitting Brelle in her little seat while music played.

Jace for sure knew better than to even wear shoes in this living room. We have 2 and this one was just for show basically, but we sat in here sometimes.

No food, drinks or even shoes were allowed in this room.

"Do you know what he did last night?" She asked.

"What happened?" I asked.

"He refused to do his homework, I literally had to force him to do it August." she said as her eyes started
to well up with water.

"That doesn't seem like him. He love school. I'll talk to him ma." I said placing my hand on her back.

"I just don't know what I've done. He use to love me August. He use to wake up and call me the prettiest woman ever, his superhero, shit like that, now it's like he hates me." she said finally letting the tears fall.

I know the most important people in Mal's life was her family, so I'm pretty sure this hurt her.

"Stop crying ma. I'm gone get this shit straightened out. He don't hate you baby." I said pulling here into my chest letting her cry.

"You welcome." he smiled after taking a picture with a fan.

I was currently out to lunch with Travis since he was in town for the week.

"Years later in the business and they still in love with yo' ass." he laughed lowly. "Still crazy that you famous bruh."

"Yeah but I mean, I've grown to deal with it. " I said honestly.

"Me too. People run up to me almost everyday cause I'm your brother." he laughed making me laugh.

"How ma?" I asked. A few years back
I had moved my ma and Chandra down to Atlanta near me, but mama insisted on moving back to New Orleans, she didn't like it here at all.
