Steve-War

You were in the conference room with the avenger's. A government official had come in to discuss the recent attacks. It didn't end so well.

First, he had talked about the alien attack in new york. So many innocent lives were lost, property was destroyed, families were scattered.

Then, sokovia. You saw Scarlett witch flinch at the mention and took her hand in your own with a comforting look. The whole city had been taken from the earth raised into the sky even past the clouds. We were able to save many lives but, lost the life of a hero. Pietro maximoff.

Finally, Steve had had enough and stood up "ok that's enough".

The government official sighed "the many Senate's and presidential candidates of the globe has had a vote. The majority are suggesting the avengers sign their organization to the government."

He placed down a huge contract on the table. It came to Steve first.

And then Rhodey.

Steve looked up and you immediately felt the anger coming off of him in waves even if he kept a straight face.

"So what? You just want us to sign over our freedom to the government. That may just have us sit there and do nothing as innocent lives are destroyed?"

Surprisingly, it didn't come from Steve or any other member. It had come from you.

The official shook his head "please understand. We are doing this for the best of the country. Even the world. This is bigger than all of you".

You looked away from the official biting your tongue and crossibg your arm's so you don't do or say anything you might regret.

Later, the avengers were having a dispute on the whole situation.

Steve was yelling at tony first "how can you agree to something like that? They'll take away our freedom and could even misuse our gifts and skills".

Tony shook his head pouring a glass of vodka in his champagne glass "what if it isn't as bad as you think. Think about it. We'll have the government on our side for once! Wouldn't you rather that then having them against us every step of the way?!"

Steve got uo from his seat "I'd rather that then the government taking away what what little freedom we had left! What if we need to go somewhere and they don't let us?"

Natasha stepped in on this "i kind of think Tony has a point". Tony and steve as well as everyone else looked at her surprised.

Tony was the first to speak "I'm sorry but, did i just hear you agree with me?".

She took a swig of her coke "oh i can take it back".

Vision came in "perhaps Tony has a interesting point to make captain". Steve looked back at him "why should the avengers work with the governmet, huh? We are supposed to be a non-profit organization not an army squad".

You got up next "Steve is right. We need to stick together on this. What if it's not like you thought? What then? If we sign that contract, we sign our freedom and our rights. We can't do that not to this family".

Everyone seemed thoughtful after that. And that's when Steve's phone buzzed. He took it out and their was a message.

You didn't see it but, he hid how he felt about it. He suddenly stepped out and said "I'll be right back".

You looked on after him and suddenly realized as he collapsed down the steps.
