<(Y/N)'s POV>
You messed up.
You knew that that job was a terrible choice.
But no. You took it.
And now you're lost.
In the middle of a snowstorm. On a mountain. Said mountain also infested with pervy monkeys. Great.
Anywho, as you wandered the barren mountainside, thoughts filled your mind.
'Welp, I'm going to die. That's a given.'
Similar thoughts clouded your mind as you reflected why you made such a stupid choice and why you had neglected looking at the weather.
'Right. Rent. I'll probably never make it back to that annoying little landlady anyways. At least, not alive.'
Through the whirling snow, you spotted a dark speck on the horizon. Hoping it wasn't a vulcan, you trudged through the snow as fast as you could. You obviously wouldn't make it in time. Unless you switched into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. Your frozen legs sprinted (or at least tried) through the snow, before the figure grew closer and closer. Before you could make out a face, however, you felt yourself slipping from consciousness and stumbled a couple more feet before collapsing into the snow, mere seconds before the figure's face was close enough to distinguish.
<???'s POV>
I was taking a wonderful stroll down the mountain, hoping to run into a vulcan, so I could pulverize it. They had been nasty little buggers recently, raiding my camp and all. But luckily I was strong enough to hold them off. I smirked to myself. I'm probably strong enough to beat Gray no--- My thoughts were interrupted as I tripped over a very large... thing. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be a girl, around my age. She seemed to be almost frozen to death. As I rolled her over to pick her up, as I'm such a good samaritan, I noticed the Fairy Tail guild mark on her travelling cloak. I picked her up and carefully placed her on my back, before returning the way I came.
<(Y/N)'s POV>
You awoke to a deep voice humming. The tune sounded familiar, but you couldn't put your finger on it. You kept your eyes closed, and noticed a fire crackling somewhere to your right.
"You can open your eyes. I'm not going to hurt you." The deep voice rumbled before returning to his humming. You sat up slowly, trying not reveal your surprise. A man sat to your left, his back to both you and the fire. His silver hair caught your attention the most, and as you observed the rest of his outfit you became more intrigued. The man wore a white coat with black fur trim around the neck and sleeves draped across his broad shoulders. You also noticed the diamond patterned pants thing he had going on.
"Wh-Who are you?" You stuttered out. The man stood and turned around, his coat falling to the ground. Too late you noticed him shirtless. He ran a hand through his hair before replying smoothly,
"I'm Lyon. Lyon Vastia." He sent you a casual wink as you blankly stared at him.
"Where am I and what are you going to do with me?" You were low-key freaking out.
'Who is he? Why is he so attractive? Wait, no. Scratch that. Why does my head hurt?'
"Well, you're on a mountain. In a snowstorm." He gestured flamboyantly towards the mouth of the cave, of which you both were located in. "And I saved you from a dying a terrible frozen death. Welcome."
Lyon strode over to a cupboard carved into the walls of the cave. Many more similar shelves lined the entirety of the cave. They were stocked with provisions, such as bottles of water and other food products. Lyon grabbed a bottle of water and a loaf of bread before striding purposefully over to you and handing them over. Like delivering food was very purposeful. You gladly accepted, of course, since you're starving.
"You can stay with me until this snowstorm passes. I'll escort you to Fairy Tail as well."
You nodded silently before chowing down on your wonderful dinner of bread and water.
~~Timeskip~~
Lyon had helped you finish your job, not that was a problem or anything. He also insisted on you keeping all of the reward money, since he was training in the mountains and had everything he needed up there. After walking you to the station and boarding the train with you, the both of you made small talk as the countryside whipped past, often times just staring at the beautiful view that appeared for only a few seconds. After a couple more stops, the train rolled to a stop at Magnolia Station. Lyon helped you up before allowing you to exit the train first. But, being the clumsy person you are, you tripped on the threshold. Lyon quickly grabbed your hand to stabilize you and to prevent you from falling off the platform to your utter demise. As you righted yourself and thanked him, you realized immediately as you both kept walking that he didn't let go of your hand. You were panicking internally and to make matters even worse Lyon very casually and flirtatiously turns around and gives you a sly wink.
