After All These Years; Gajeel x Reader

*Flashback to 14 years ago*

You woke up, just like everyday. Stepping out of your tent, you saw your best friend, Gajeel Redfox, sitting by the fire of the camp the two of you had created.

"Hey, Gajeel" You mutter, sitting down next to him.

"Mornin'." He replies, tossing you an apple. The two of you, had been on the run. From what? Your past. Ever since Metalicana left, you had been wandering around, looking for a place to stay.. You used Steel Dragon Slayer magic, but Gajeel was stronger due to experience. You had previously talked with him, and the both of you had decided to join a guild. Today was the day.

"So which guild are you going to join?" You ask him, still unsure of your answer.

"Phantom Lord. They're the strongest. Gihihi!" He replies.

"But... Isn't that a dark guild?"

"Yeah, but they're super awesome!" You sigh, knowing that you won't be able to change his mind once he makes a decision.

"What about you?" He asks.

"I don't really know. Maybe Fairy Tail." You reply, looking at him.

"So you're going to join the weak guild? Suits you. Gihihi!"

You punch his arm. "Shut up!"

*End Flashback*

Things were only going downhill. Phantom Lord was threatening your family. And you were going to put an end to this. Suddenly, you pound your fist into the table and stand. Everyone in the guild at the moment stares at you.

"I am done with this. Done." You growl, stalking outside. For too long you had watched Phantom Lord beat up your friends, your family. You were going to stop this once and for all.

Natsu jumped up. "Wait! (Y/N)!"

"What?" You say and turn your head and look at him.

"I'm coming with you." He replies, determined.

"Why bother? You'll get hurt."

"They want Lucy. And you're going to get hurt too."

"Yes, but I have... Important matters to settle." You hiss as you walk out the door, towards the Phantom Lord HQ.

Gajeel. You'll pay for what you're doing to my family. I've gotten stronger since you joined that guild. I'll be able to beat you now. No matter what you do.

You run down the beach, calling upon your companion, a Griffin. He swoops down next to you as you continue running down the beach. You had named him Ocel, and he was a steel gray Griffin, of whom you rescued when he was younger, and grew to a massive size.

"Take me up the roof." You say to him, and he shrieks in reply. You jump onto his back, and he takes off, avoiding the weird shadow things that suck up your magic energy.

He lands on the roof, and you jump off. Using your magic, you summon him a set of steel armor. Then, the two of you jump down and search for your old friend. An explosion from a room across the hall from the one you were searching in caused you to dash over and inspect what was happening. Your eyes narrow as the dust clears and you spot Lucy tied up.

"Gajeel." Your tone was venomous.

"Gihihi! I've been expecting you, little fairy! Come to join your friend?" He cackles. He obviously didn't remember you. Even if he did, you would still fight him.

"Enough is enough, Gajeel. Remember what Metalicana said." You growl.

"I see the little fairy did her research! Hah! That old fool's been dead for years." Your eyes narrow.
