Chapter 2:

The small light rays that escaped from the cream coloured blinds, woke Violet up. She turned to see that her clock read 6:45. Her body had become so immune to waking up at the time that she didn’t even need an alarm. Like most teenagers, Violet reached out to read the notifications on her phone. There some messages and follows from twitter, Instagram, Tumblr. There was just one message that caught her eyes, it was a direct message from an unknown number, she swiped to view it.

See you at the park.

Can’t wait for community service.

Xoxo Kyle

Her jaw dropped like as if she saw a sparkling vampire in front of her.

How the hell did he get my number?

Criminal.

Yes.

But stalker, no, she couldn’t put that past him. But then again she didn’t really have a clue who this guy was other than the fact that he was an asshole

She lifted herself from the comfy heaven and walked into the glistening white bathroom that was connected to her room. Her family wasn’t like super rich, but they were well off to afford a large house where they all had an en-suite.

Just like every other person in the world she looked up at the mirror, she wasn’t displeased or even too pleased about her reflection. Her body was more defined as skinny with a touch of curves; she had a light tan going on, which she inherited from her Spanish mother. Her eyes were just a caramel colour that perfect matched her hair. She wasn’t either tall or short, being 164cm, she was merely average. All in all she could be defined as average looking.

She stared at herself at sighed.

“So now you’re a criminal and for the next 5 days you’re going to be stuck with 4 giant rats.” She said to her reflection with no point intended other than the fact to remind herself that the situation was actually real.

She threw herself into the shower, hoping that the situation fades and turned into a nightmare that she had. When she walked out of the shower, with a strong aroma of strawberries hanging around her, reality finally slapped her in the face. She either had to suffer this punishment or she would end up in gaol. She looked through closet and thought of sticking with a simple outfit of plain black shorts and a red checked shirt. She added light mascara and styled her hair into soft curls.

As she walked down the stairs, the smell of waffles filled her nose, but the time indicated it was 9:30 and she was supposed to be at the park in 30 minutes and she was pretty sure it was going to be a 20 minutes ride, so breakfast was out of the question.

She took the back entrance so she didn’t need to face her family about not eating breakfast. Also because she had told her family about her situation, instead of sympathizing with her, they just laughed at her.

The green trees where the side fence of the concrete road, they seemed to be never ending just like the horizon. They all turned into a mild green haze as Violet accelerated her speed according to the road sign. It wasn’t before long she saw a sign of Walmorro National Park.

She pulled into the side entrance and parked on one side of the pebbled road. The pebbles made a slight impact on the sole of her warn out converse.

At the entrance stood a middle aged lady that was dressed in a light brown uniform.

“I am Violet; I am here for community service.”

“Hah, seems looks can be perceiving,” the lady said quietly but loud enough for Violet to her.
