I sighed and switched off the sawing machine. "I could really use a break away from this."
I slumbed down on the couch next to Carl. He seemed so relaxed I wish I was him. "Maybe a day at the beach or a spar, God that would feel so good" I closed my eyes and imagined getting a really good massage.
Carl just chuckled, "Well my dear you can get all of that done once we have sold all of the designs and are swimming in big bucks of money." He flicked my forehead and I smacked his arm, he ran away laughing I couldn't help but join him.
Just then Svante came in. "I see the two of you are having more fun then working." I could've sworn I heard annoyance in his voice. "Anyway I got news." He waved an envelope.
"What is it?" Carlos snatched the envelope from him, before he read it Svante started explaining, "the annual rich people's gala." He said. Carl gave out a sigh, "same old bullshit. Anyway I can't make it this time around." He said tossing the paper to me.
"What! Why not? if you don't go then I have to go and I can't survive these type of parties Carl you have to go" he said frantically. What was so bad about those parties anyway.
"Nope sorry no can do, I have to go to New York, there is a board meeting with some of the shareholders and since the chairperson won't make it, I have to go." He patted Svante's head, which Svante replied to by smacking his arm away and grumbled.
"I hate you two"
"We love you too little brother." Carl smiled happily.
"But look at the bright side you get to go to a lavish place with the wide open beach and a beautiful woman by your side" he turned to look at me.
Oh hell no
"No" I said before he even mentioned anything. I had no clue what they where talking about but I knew I didn't want to go.
"Oh come on you don't even know what this whole thing is about."
"Yes but from the sound of it, it doesn't sound fun"
"Its loads of fun. You get to dine with the world's top fashion gurus. Chit chat with the Barbies and Kens of the fashion world and come on its a free trip all the way to the other side of the world. Would you really refuse?" He tried to persuade me.
"Yes Carl I actually would and I am refusing." I got up to leave.
"Oh would you look at that, it's written right here that La Vaiga and all its associates are obliged to come. And since Rosey dear isn't around guess who's next in charge?" Carlos said whilst gloating at me.
"What? How can we be 'obliged to come'?" I snatched the paper from Svante to read it properly, and it clearly stated that we were obliged to come due to this being our first partnership with La Vaiga. I slumped down on the chair . "Who writes this stuff?"
"Celeste." Carl said before snatching the paper back. "She is actually very beautiful...smart too" he grinned.
"I hate you"
"Its all love dear, it will be fun. There will be people there that you have never met. You get to socialise and connect with other designers and on top of that promote our up coming line and this beautiful partnership that we have going on"
"And you get to meet my crazy mother. He forgot to add that part" Svante commented on the side while swinging on my office chair. Carlos glared at him. "She isn't that bad"
"No she is ten times worse" I agreed with Svante ever since the meeting she called us to on Saturday, which she didn't show up to, I got the impression that she wasn't all rainbows and sunshine.

The flight was three hours long. I hate to admit it but Carl was right the place was lavish and beautiful. The white sand and blue waters, I couldn't stop staring as we drove to our hotel. Svante pushed my head away from the window with his finger, "you'll get drool all over the glass" I smacked his hand and continued to gawk at the place.
The driver dropped us off at the reception area and we went to check in. Svante spoke to the lady at the desk whilst I took in my surroundings. Beautiful, from the chandelier hanging on the high sealing to the well polished tiles everything was simply spectacular. The wind blew through the blue curtains and for a moment I think I tasted heaven.
"I want a bigger room! How do you people expect me to stay in such a tiny little room, and I had specifically asked you not to get a room with the view of the ocean this wind is just too much. How-" My heart froze. The taste of heaven quickly went away and I was left with a bitter vile taste.
I had hoped no I had prayed that I would never get to hear that voice ever again, but standing across the hallway was the same mob of blond hair, the same slim tall figure and the same bossy attitude she seemed to have.
"My apologies mam. I will try to fix it" the poor guy fumbled about trying to pick up all of her bags. "Try?! I don't want you to try!make sure you get me what I asked for. Don't you know who I am?"
"Yyes mam I do. I-I will get it done right away mam" He scurried off and came in my direction. I turned away before she could see me.
"-so we could go now" I caught the last few words of Svante's sentence. "I'm sorry what were you saying?" He looked annoyed. "So all this time, you weren't listening to me?" I shook my head. "I said our room is ready let us go now!" He raised his voice a bit.
"Ooo my gaaash!"
Fuck, Oh my fuck kill me now
I turned around and came face to face with Cassandra Brown.
