(A/N: that's just Ember in anime form!!!)
As I walked around my room, placing my staff in the corner of my room, by my purple and silver vanity, and walked over to my large canopy bed, and grabbed my diary.
I flipped through until I found a fresh page, and then, I began to write.
Dear Diary,
It's been a while. A little girl named Dylan is finally safe in her new home, which I am glad for.
I can't seem to remember anything about who I was. I'm going to have to ask MiM about that.
It's kinda weird that I don't remember my death, or anything in my past. I sometimes have flashes but I can't really piece them together.
They're like puzzle pieces. But there's no corners... nothing fits.
Ugh. I'm gonna go. I figure that North wants to talk to me. About his cookies.
I'm not sorry I ate them. They were nice while they lasted too.
Bye,
~Emberlyn Burns.
"Ember!" A familiar Russian accent called. "We have a meeting!"
"What? I wasn't sure about that. What do we have a meeting again?"
"Just come downstairs!"
I sighed. "Fine North."
-
"Hey," Jack said."Um... hi?" I squeaked.
Great move Ember. You're totally gonna get him to notice you in a bad way now.
"So... do you know why North called us down here?"
I shook my head. "Nope."
"Ember, are you sure of your center?" North asked me.
I froze. "I..."
"Manny is going to help her right?" Tooth rushed out, worry evident in her voice when I didn't have a real answer.
North handed me a golden tab, and I reluctantly accepted it.
"It's time you know. This is our gift to you."
Tears sprung to my eyes.
Did I even want to know?
