My name is Andrew Phillip James Henson, and I was born February 26, 1996. I have been through a lot in my life. I have overcome many obstacles, and still I continue to fight. I have become a very strong individual through the years both mentally and physically. I have learned many lessons but the best ones I learned are that you can never count anyone out of anything, and that you should never overlook your blessings.
When I was born my umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck three times. I entered the world blue in the face and pretty much dead. They managed to revive me but were unsure of how long I would live. Before I left the hospital I was diagnosed with asthma.
January 22, 1997, my little brother, Aaron Jamal Henson, was born. He passed away a couple of months later on March 28. It was bad because he passed away, but it was a million times worse because it happened on my mom's birthday. All was ok with my mom; she sent me and my sisters, Amanda, Anna, and Andrea to my grandma's house. She needed some alone time, but it may have been a bad idea because she wrecked the house. She cleaned up her mess before we returned home, though.
A week after the passing of my brother I had my very first seizure. At first everyone around thought I was dead. An ambulance was called but they did not take me to the hospital a family friend drove me instead. The doctors said I was fine, I just had a seizure. I got sent back home that day and I was not kept.
About a year later I chucked a pair of scissors at my sister, Andrea. I was about to get the beating of my life, but my sister jumped in front of me and said don't hit him. About a year after I almost made my sister blind, my sisters and I were sent to live with my aunt. We had to live with her because my mom had become just too unstable to take care of us. I was between my aunt's house and living with my mom for about four years. When I started walking I began walking funny and by the age of three I was named an idiopathic toe walker. An idiopathic toe walker is someone that walks on their toes because their Achilles tendons are too tight to walk heal toe. I was also juiced up on medication due to my asthma, Epilepsy, and ADHD. My seizures got progressively worse to the point that they were making me very violent when I would have one. One time at the zoo my sister, Anna, was trying to help me because I was having a seizure and I busted her nose.
When I was six I started kindergarten. My epilepsy had slowed down a great deal at this point, but my attitude just went into the gutter. I would only have a seizure occasionally. I was not good in school at all though. I was not good with my class mates. I would cut in front of them and push them down. I was a bully-that is all there is to it. One day we were painting and I painted a kid blue. The worst thing I did was bring a toy knife to school. I got suspended from school for one day. I got put back because I was not quite mature enough for first grade. I went to transition which is a grade between kindergarten and first grade. Benton did not have a transition program, so I had to leave and go to Null. In transition my behavior was still bad, so I was put in a psyche ward by my mom at the age of seven. I still did not get the clue. I tried to fight the doctor, and I was put in a pillow-padded room where I received a booty shot. After a horrendous week I was released to go home, and my mom came to pick me up. Close to a month later my mom said she was done with my behavior. I continued to misbehave, and it got to the point where she was done trying to deal with me. Sometime later I moved out and had to go live with my dad.

Short StoryThis is just a story of my life, up to when I turned 20 years old. It is pretty personal, but I feel that if it can influence 1 person to better their life than it is completely worth it.
