"Not Ready"

Iwaizumi takes his wife by the shoulder and have her face him. "What do you mean she doesn't have much time left?"

"(Name)-san had never been a healthy child," she explained. "With the heart condition she had, it took medicine after medicine to have had her to live this long. That's one of the reason it's so hard to hold a child in her body. To have a baby, she must stop all medication, but stopping her medication means harming herself. So when she set her mind on having a child, it meant she was also prepared for her end. "

"Then why would she risk having a child if it's going to jeopardize her life, why is Oikawa letting her do this?!" Iwaizumi falls into a ball of confusion. "Must everything be this complicated?" he thought.

"Iwaizumi....she told me she wasn't going to last the year. She said when the new year comes, Oikawa will be alone. S-she said...if she was able to have at least one kid, Oikawa won't feel lonely, Oikawa won't be alone..." your best friend breaks down as she finishes her sentence.

"W-why? Why did Oikawa agreed to this?!" Iwaizumi quickly runs after Oikawa. His wife tried to stop him, but fails to.

He catches up to Oikawa outside the hospital and calls out to him. "Oikawa, you idiot!"

Oikawa turns around only to see a fist that sends him flying to the ground. Iwaizumi walks over him and picks him up by the collar. "Why would you let (name)-san have a child if it's going to kill her??!" Iwaizumi couldn't understand how Oikawa can just walk his own wife to death's door so willingly.

"Your wife told you?" Oikawa faked a smile as he stood up. "I've been meaning to tell y-"

"Cut the crap! And answer my question!!" he gives him another punch.

"Iwaizumi, you don't understand..." Oikawa replied while straightening up and smiling at him even though his eyes are ready to burst.

"Then explain to me?! H-how do you just accept that fact that your wife will die having your child and be okay?" Iwaizumi questioned Oikawa and finds himself crying and falling to his knees. "I-if it was me, I-I'll protect my wife!" Iwaizumi stuttered between cries. He realizes he wasn't angry because Oikawa was letting you die, but because he couldn't imagine being in Oikawa's place. He couldn't imagine having to choose between the life of his wife or kids. He wasn't angry at Oikawa's decision, but he was angry for Oikawa. Most of all he was angry at himself. He had it better. He had a healthy wife with healthy kids, while his best friend will have to sacrifice one for the other. "I-I'm s-sorry." he puts his head down as he sobbed away.

"Iwa-chan, you were always like this..." Oikawa walks to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You were always worrying about everything for me...thank you."

"Shut Up! It's because you always act cool and pretends everything's ok!" Iwaizumi shouted as he wiped away his tears.

"Everything is ok... (name)-chan said she was happy, she said that she was very happy and I'm contented with that much," Oikawa pat his shoulder and let out a smile before leaving.

Iwaizumi sits there until his wife finds him and persuades him to go back inside.

Oikawa said he was going to get something warm to drink, but he went to sit near a public park to cool off. While sitting and not even thinking of anything his tears begin to fall down. He touched them, not believing he was crying. "I've already prepared myself for this for a long time now, so...why am I crying?" he asked himself as tears continued to pour out. His hand right hand finds it way over his heart and clenches it in his palm as if it'll ease the pain. "If you're happy, then that's enough for me...." he softly said and begin to cry. "I'm going to be ok, because you're going to be happy....so why? Why am I crying?"
