Curiosity. A strong desire to know or learn something. Curiosity can be a dangerous thing if your compulsive enough to find your answer. When I saw that boy out at this time of night and seemingly around my age. I got a feeling. A feeling deep in my gut. He must of been a Child of the Eon. I walked up and stood directly next to him, looking towards the lake as i gripped tight on the railing. I could tell he was startled. he decides to speak up "what are you doing out so late" he says still looking out to the lake. "i could say the same to you but i think we both know why" he looks a little nervous and confused i can tell he's a subconscious. His emotions show. "sorry, don't know what your on about" he's says finally taking a glance at me but quickly directs his attention back to the moon's reflection in the water. "aren't you a little young to be a citizen of Eon" i can literally hear his breathe stop for a second but then his composure enhances "aren't you" and right then i feel a faint drop of water hit my shoulder then my forehead, it starts to rain. We end up just standing there not really talking. We occasionally will exchange a glance or two. The rain starts to come down harder making drops in the lake and filling the street with water. It's a beautiful sight, the moon reflects on the puddles scattered round and when the raindrops hit the lake they make a series of ripples around where it hit. I look down to check my tag. As i expected the ink has started running. I reach up and take hold of the bunched up cloth of my sleeve and pull it down my arm so it's covering my wrist. I look over to the boy's wrist to see his tag's ink running too. "i knew it" i saw turning towards him. "knew what?" he asks seemingly confused yet knowing at the same time. "you're a Child of the Eon" he looks nervous almost scared "still don't know what your on about" i reach my hand out wrapping my hand around his wrist holding it up "looks like your tag is running, you seem a little nervous" i let go of his wrist his pulse was racing as i presume mine was but with my new found assurance i pause for a second before adding "and by your age I'm guessing you're not just a subconscious, you must be a Child of the Eon" instead of answering he grabs my wrist pushing my sleeve up to reveal my running tag "you know you're pretty young too" we make eye contact, without confirming it we both new. We knew that we were Children of the Eon. We grew a bond. We didn't talk but we grew a bond. Both being Children of the Eon connected us in a way words couldn't. We just stood there. We stood on that bridge by the lake front until the sun had started to rise. We had agreed to meeting tomorrow night before heading for home. When i arrived home i snuck back to the basement as carefully as the way i left. Even more if possible, knowing my father would wake soon. I get down to the basement quickly changing into dry clothing and using the wet ones to wipe away the tag. I fix up my "bed" before taking a seat. I just sat there, not being able to sleep.
