Soon the transfers were following Tris as she gave them a tour of the compound. Nearing the Chasm Cris shoved Morgan into one of the rock walls, her arm and injured ribs taking a hard push against the pointy side if the rock wall, she yelped in pain but quickly she threw a punch aiming at his face, but got caught by a tattooed man.
"That was unnecessary" said the blonde, pushing Cris back.
"Fuck you" Morgan spat at him, the blonde turned to her.
"That was also unnecessary" he let go of Morgans hand, that quickly went to her aching ribs.
"Do you need to go to the infirmary?" Tris asked looking at her concerned once more, she had approached to break the fight as soon as she heard her scream. But Eric was just tailing behind quietly when it all went down.
"No I'm.... I'm fine, I can walk it off." Morgan shaked her head and tried to get walking when the tattooed leader grabbed her one more time by the wrist.
"I'm taking her she's clearly not OK" without waiting for another comment he dragged Morgan to the infirmary, clearly against her will, she didn't want anyone's pity, especially the trainers. She also hated the fact that it all happened in front of Cris, it made her feel ashamed that she could go down with just a slight push.
"Take a look at her" was instructed to one of the nurses in shift as he shoved her roughly to one of the infirmary beds.
"I'm Anne" said a blonde one to Morgan indicating her to sit on one of the beds "what happened?"
"I hurt my ribs" Morgan said lifting her white shirt and pulling back some bandages
"Here?"
"No" she shook her head. Anne gave her a look as if she wanted her to continue, she sighed and looked away
"at Erudite.""Erudite?" she frowned, but continued to check if none of the ribs where broken."I wasn't aware people hit girls at Erudite" She started to rub on her some cream to speed up the healing.
Morgan's thoughts were on how this day had been the worst, clearly this was just the beggining, and all of the physicality that was needed in dauntless was going to be tough on her.
Anne asked if the tattooed guy to leave for a second, and when the nurse named him Morgan learned his name was Eric.
"You know you can tell me who did this, and we will keep an eye out." Morgan shook her head in denial, she could handle it by herself.
'There's no need, I'll be fine" Eric retuned with a pack of ice on his hand and handled it to Morgan.
"Your arm will bruise soon".
Morgan took it and pressed it to his arm. She turned to look at him while he listened to the nurse giving him a quick advise on her injuries. She observed the tattoos on his arms, his blonde hair and piecing blue eyes, his face piercings and the tattoos on his neck. Tattoos always intrigued her and she stared at them a long while.
When Eric caught her staring she didn't turned her gaze, but instead made eye contact.
"What?" asked the leader, obviously upset. Morgan blinked and thought of a quick scape.
"You look like you could knock someone unconscious in a single blow" he raises an eyebrow at her and crossed his arms at his torso.
"I could" Morgan grinned.
"Do you think I could do that by the end of the initiation?" Eric was a little taken a back by her question.
"You'll need a lot of training, look at you, I could kill you with a single punch" he replied confident, almost as if he was trying to get that idea out of her head.
"With hard training I could right?" she insisted, he shrugged nonchalantly.
"Maybe" Morgan was about to say something else when she was interrupted by the nurse. Eric disliked the Erudites a bit, always with their questions, questions he didn't feel like answering at the time.
Anne shook a bottle of pain killers in front of her and gave her instructions.
Morgan insisted she didn't wanted to rest or miss any training days, and Anne gave her some other pills to take before the training to numb her affected zone so she could train.Morgan thanked her and Eric walked her out leading her to the room where she would be sharing her sleeping space with all of the other transfers, he also gave a quick rundown on the basics, since she has missed the whole speech Tris gave.
Why Eric felt intrigued in her he may never know. She wasn't an out of the ordinary girl. She had some curves at the right places, an angular face, her hair in a now messy bun, her nose was little, long and pointy, her lips where angular and her eyes where made to be looked at.
In the doorway of the dormitories before Eric took off Mia walked to Morgan and asked her how she felt.
"You know I happen to be a drug addict and just needed my fix" she shook the bottles of painkillers as she walked past the erudite "All good now"
Eric tried to repress a smile and walked out of the dormitories. On his way out he observed the male erudite, eyeing Morgan mischievously, he had sat down with the amity girl, which was curious to him. He saw Tris leave the room and called her attention.
"Yes?" she crossed her arms, weary of Eric, who she didn't trust much, nor she felt comfortable in his presence, there was a lot of rumors about him that made everyone scared of him.
"I will be overseeing tomorrow's training just a bit, I have leader matters to attend, but keep an eye on the erudites" he turned to leave "all of them."
