"Morgan!" she was scared awake and turned to look at Eric "for fuck sake Morgan I thought you were dead!" she heard Eric yell at her. She smiled, because now she could hear him, and the environment.
She flung her arm and Eric caught her hand in his, gripping tight
"I'm sorry" was all she could say. Eric ran his thumbs on her knuckles and gave her a little smile. She felt like crying again, but tried her best to contain herself. She hadn't realize that it was dawn. And in a little while they would be engulfed in complete darkness, she wouldn't be able to see Eric.
"It's quiet out there" he said. She looked around and heard nothing, she sighed and shook her head
"Lets just hope they find out we're missing and think to look for us before declaring us dead."
"The leadership must have already done that" she looked at him "but my friends, Creed and the guys, they know better than to declare me dead without a body. They will find us. I will get you out of here, I promise Morgan."
Morgan stared at his eyes as he spoke, she gave him a quick nod to calm him down. Eric relaxed his body and laid his cheek on the cold floor, she continued to look at him, and him at her, until the lights around them shut down. Morgan felt like one moment she could see him perfectly, and when she blinked everything was pitch black around her.
"I'm right here" Eric said as he gripped Morgan's hand reassuringly.
She nodded and inhaled, she was not alone. It was dark, and she didn't know what was going to happen to them. But whatever happened she would have to embrace it, and she was with Eric to the end. "Morgan?" she looked at him but she couldn't see him"Yeah?" she beckoned him to talk.
"You're so gorgeous" she half smiled.
"You're very handsome too" she felt a sob in her throat and the tears threatening to flow again.
"When we get out of here i want you to marry me" Morgan closed her eyes shut and she shook her head trying to scare the tears away "will you?"
"Of course I will" she said, and bawled her free hand into a fist, she moved her face and bit her bawled hand tightly, she felt the tears flowing down her temple, but she did her best to not let Eric hear her cry, because it wasn't a happy cry.
"I want to be really lame about it and get you a ring too" she laughed a bit and moved her fingers to caress his hand. She didn't say anything until she had calmed down enough to not let her voice show him that she had been crying.
She muttered an I love you to him and closed her eyes. Eric began talking to her, he also felt very light headed, but refused to pass out, so he talked to her about anything. But with every word he felt the piece of metal that was stuck in his flesh tear it inch by inch.
He had told Morgan it was on his side, but it had actually caught him in the middle of two ribs and pierced his lung. He took very short breaths and tried not to struggle and not get agitated. He had to wait for a few more hours for his friend to find him.
He trusted them completely, they would get him out. He would have to get a lung transplant, a few months of recovery and he would be like new again. So would Morgan.
They were getting out of that one, safe and sound. Both.
