A/N: Hey guys, I know I said I'd write that mini series but I haven't really found any inspiration to write it as of yet, anyway I found a song I really loved as a kid and this idea popped into my head. Hope you enjoy! - Molly
"This is the stupidest idea you've had in a while Dean." Sam deadpanned, glaring at his brother. Dean scoffed and stared at Sam in disbelief.
"I think it's freaking awesome, don't ya think (Y/N)?" Dean slung his arm over my shoulders, practically leaning all of his body weight onto my smaller frame in his ever so tipsy state. I smiled up at Dean's hopeful expression, "It's really not a bad idea Samsquatch, loosen up! It'll be fun,"
"What about karaoke is fun? It's a bunch of tone deaf idiots ruining songs," Sam replied, pursing his lips the way he does when he's trying to prove a point.
"I for one have never experienced this 'karaoke', I'm open to the idea," Castiel piped up from next to Sam, he shot Dean a reassuring smile. "3 against one Sammy!" Dean beamed at all of us as we walked into the small karaoke bar.It was about time we all had fun and forgot about hunting for a while, working all the time wasn't healthy. Especially not in our line of work.
We'd barely sat down at the bar when Sam called over the bartender, ordering a round of shots. "You okay Sam?" I asked, thoroughly amused at his nervous behaviour. Sweating a little, Sam shot me a sarcastic smile and a thumbs up, but didn't verbalise his answer. I reached up and pat his back comfortingly, trying to be empathetic but failing due to excitement. Truth is I love to sing. I was always doing productions and performances at school growing up, until hunting became a part of my life, now I rarely get to show my hidden talent.
Unbeknownst to all of us, Dean had already gotten up and put himself, Cas and Sam down for their version of Bad Company's 'Ready For Love'. The first we heard of it was when the announcer said through the mic, "Alright alright, next up we have 'The Golden Boys' singing 'Ready for looooove'."
Dean gripped both Sam and Cas's sleeves excitedly jumping up and down saying, "That's us!" He proceeded to drag a mortified Sam and a confused Castiel onto the stage, while I watched on with absolute joy. That idiot.Anyone who knew Cas was accustomed to his befuddled mannerisms, but I couldn't help but laugh as he squinted his eyes and tilted his head at the unfamiliar music. Sam on the other hand, was sweating bullets and side-eyeing an elated Dean. All in all the song was an absolute mess, Cas didn't know the lyrics, Sam was so nervous you could barely hear the poor guy, even with the mic, but that didn't mean the crowd didn't love the performance. Dean was the most overly enthusiastic drunk singer I've ever seen in my life, the crowd ate it up, cheering on his off-key warbles. By the end of the song, all three men were grinning and laughing at themselves, which made me happy. It was so rare that moments like this came around, I have to treasure them when they happen. I clapped loudly for my favourite people, wolf whistling them from our seats.
Once the guys had calmed down a bit from their performance, I strolled up to the DJ and gave him my song request, to which he replied with a grin and a, "Great choice sweetheart."
"Next up ladies and gents, we have (Y/N) singing 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' give her a warm welcome!" The crowd clapped politely as I climbed onto the stage, I could hear Dean screaming, "THAT'S MY BEST FRIEND!" Above all of the noise, which made me chuckle.
I walked to the mic stand and gripped it with both hands as the familiar music started to play.
Under a lover's sky, gonna be with you
And no one's gonna be around
If you think that you won't fall
Well just wait until
Til the sun goes downI sang the first verse, a little hesitantly, getting used to singing in front of a large crowd again.
Underneath the starlight, starlight
There's a magical feeling, so right
It'll steal your heart tonightA grin slowly spread across my face as I got into the song, with fervour I launched into the chorus.
You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight it
It's gonna get to your heartThe crowd was clapping along and I even spotted a few people singing, my boys though, stood still and staring, mouths agape. I began to tap my foot and move my hips with music.
There's no escape from love
Once a gentle breeze
Weaves it's spell upon your heart
No matter what you think
It won't be too long
Til your in my arms
Underneath the starlight, starlight
We'll be lost in the rhythm, so right
Feel it steal your heart tonightGod, I missed singing.
You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No you can't fight it
No matter what you do
The night is gonna get to youI danced my little heart out to the little instrumental, enjoying myself.
Don't try
You're never gonna winI took a deep breath and readied myself for my favourite part of the whole song.
Part of me the starlight, starlight
There's a magical feeling, so right
It will steal your heart tonightI belted out the next lyrics with everything I have, and I watched, as one by one, Cas, Sam and Dean broke out in huge grins, the started clapping enthusiastically along with the beat, the sight of them almost made me tear up.
You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight itYou can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss
But you know
Don't you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight it
It's gonna get to your heartI finished with a little bow, my cheeks were aching because of how huge my smile was, most of the crowd were on their feet clapping, I got a few pats on the back as I walked back to our seats.
"(Y/N) you were so awesome!" Sam yelled as I approached, he crushed me to his chest in a bear hug to which I laughed and eagerly reciprocated, "Thanks Sam!"
"Why didn't you tell me you could sing (Y/N)?" Dean grinned and punched me lightly on the shoulder.
"I don't know man, it just never came up," I said with a chuckle, my cheeks flaming with the attention. Cas simply slung his arm around my waist and enthusiastically kissed my cheek, shocking all of us, it was quite out of character for him, but it was nice to see a side of him that I hadn't before.
We spent the rest of the night together, singing and clapping along to all everyone's performances, for once totally relaxed and not worried about the supernatural, all thanks to Dean's 'stupid' idea. Man, I love these guys.A/N: Just out of curiosity does anybody actually enjoy these? I kinda just write when I feel the urge.
(There may be some mistakes but I'm too lazy to edit, so I apologise if there are. Much love x )
