Ever had those blissful mornings when nothing wakes you up, you're warm, you're comfortable and you just feel totally at ease? It was mornings like these that made you feel most appreciative that you actually had a fixed residence somewhere, thank god for the bunker, waking up in a dingy motel never felt the same as waking up feeling at home.
As you lay there, the cogs in you're brain slowly wheezing to life, turning slowly, you remembered that today was your birthday. You were turning (Y/Age) A soft sigh escaped your lips, hunters don't tend to celebrate birthdays, usually occupied with a hunt, your past birthdays were forgotten. You always wondered why your job meant ignoring all holidays and special occasions, usually with a cheap alternative, Sam once told you that John's idea of thanksgiving was a bucket of extra crispy and passing out on the couch. You hated that, why shouldn't you celebrate?
After you collected your thoughts, you reluctantly pulled yourself out of your cosy warm bed, tugging your worn out fluffy slippers over your feet. As you approached your bedroom door you could hear the muffled but unmistakeable voice of Cas.
"But Dean, I want to be the one to give (Y/N) the birthday cake."
"Cas are you forgetting who made this cake? Yeah that's right, me. hand it over."
You couldn't stop yourself from grinning, the thought of Dean actually making a cake for you was just the sweetest thing. With full intentions (and hopes) of catching them fighting over a cake you opened your door quietly and crept around the corridor, poking your head around the wall you saw something that brought tears to your eyes. There on the library table sat three presents, all wrapped messily and a couple of (Favourite Colour) balloons. Next to the table stood Dean and Cas, both tugging slightly on a big chocolate cake, covered in butter icing and Sam stood watching the scene unfold, a fond smile on his face. You didn't think they would even remember your birthday, you couldn't believe they went to the trouble of balloons, cake and presents."Guys..." You said, voice slightly wobbly.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Y/N)!"
They shouted in unison. You really did start crying then, running as fast as your legs could take you, you jumped onto closest person, it just happened to be Sam. "Thankyou thankyou thankyou!" You mumbled into his chest, your next target was Cas, having finally put the cake down, he opened his arms to you, you hugged him just as fiercely as you'd hugged Sam, before moving onto Dean and doing the same thing.
"Well, what do you think?" Dean said, gesturing to the table of goodies behind him, wiping the tears from your eyes you answered with a laugh, "It's so perfect you guys, I can't believe you did this!"
"It's nothing (Y/N), really." Sam told you earnestly, smiling from ear to ear.
"Yeah short-stop, not a problem." Dean added. After all the blubbering, (on your part of course) and thankyou's, the guys picked up the presents, all attempting to give them to you at the same time.
"One at a time, guys" you said, the smile never leaving your face, you reached for Cas's present first, more than a bit curious to see what an angel had thought would be a good gift idea. Tearing into the wrapping paper, not even trying to conceal you're excitement, you found a flat black box, upon opening said black box, the tears threatened to spill over again. Cas had bought you a bracelet, a plain gold chain and hanging from it was a singular silver, wing charm.
"Cas thankyou so much." You breathed, and proceeded to bury your face in Castiel's neck, wrapping your arms tightly around him. You felt his body shake slightly with laughter, something you'd only ever seen him do once.
"You're very welcome (Y/N)" you heard Cas say before he pressed his lips to the top of you're head in a friendly peck. After attaching the bracelet to your wrist an impatient Dean was waiting, present outstretched in front of your face, you giggled a little before tearing into the very messily wrapped present, you gasped "Dean Winchester!" You exclaimed as you pulled out two CDs from the wrapping paper. The first CD was entitled, '(Y/N)s favourites', the second 'Songs for (Y/N) to listen to when she's sad'. You enveloped Dean in a massive hug and quietly whispered "You massive softie." Into his ear, the others didn't catch the exchange. Last but not least was Sammy, who gave you a large flat box, you opened it with the utmost curiosity, inside you found a large picture frame, filled with the absolutely terrible selfies you and Sam had taken together, you were surprised there were so many! You laughed so much that your stomach hurt, they were awful pictures, but they held memories. "Thankyou so much Sammy. It will go perfectly in my room."
"No problem (nickname)." With your hands full, you couldn't hug Sam, you tiptoed as high as you could and pressed quick kiss to his jaw, lord knows you aren't tall enough to reach his cheek. After all the cake was eaten, the picture frame was hung and the mixtape was playing softly in the background, you smiled to yourself, completely content.
(A/N: sorry if there are a lot of mistakes, this is also not my best so I apologise:) x )
