"This look okay?" I asked as I came out of my bathroom to show Whitney what I was going to wear for the party. We were at my house, changing for the party.

"You look so cute." Whitney said as she beamed at my sundress. I'd worn a baby blue sundress with pink flowers on them. I think I looked decent enough. Whitney had worn a sundress too but she'd worn a red one with black stripes. It looked pretty nice on her.

"Okay then, when's Max coming to pick us up?" I asked as if on que we heard the horn of a truck coming from outside the house.

"I guess he's here." Whitney replied grinning as she grabbed her purse and her phone, me doing the same and went down the stairs to the car.

"Hello, ladies." Max said with a toothy grin as we reached his car.

"Hey, Max." We replied in unison as Whitney got in the passenger seat and I got in the back seat with Jeremy who was also a good friend of ours.

"Hey, Jer." I said as he wrapped an arm around me, pulling me close to him. He always flirted with me but it'd always been harmless. He was kind of like my brother that I never had.

"Hey, sexy. How've you been? Haven't seen you in a while, y'know?" Jeremy said as I chuckled.

"I saw you day before yesterday, you bum." I said as Jeremy chuckled.

"You already know I can't stay without you." Jeremy said as I giggled, elbowing him in the ribs.

"Yeah, right." I said as the rest of the car ride went by silently.

"We're here!" Max said in a singsong manner as I chuckled and got out of the car along with Whitney and Jeremy.

I looked at the house which I'd seen in so many of the videos and imagined so many times as I stood there just gawking not moving a muscle.

"Not that I have a problem here but we can party inside too." Jeremy said as I punched his arm before following him inside. Whitney and Max had already disappeared somewhere into the crowd but Jeremy was still next to me. Jeremy wasn't the kind of guy who would hook with random girls, at most he would make out with chicks but even then only with the ones who actually intrigued him.

"Want a drink?" Jeremy asked as I scanned the crowd for no one in particular, just looking around to see a few familiar faces I'd seen before at high school parties.

"Always." I said with a smirk as Jeremy frowned at me.

"Just one. Oh, come on, you're the one who asked." I said as he shook his head disapprovingly.

"I don't understand why you drink so much. I hardly remember the time where you hated all this." Jeremy said as I looked at the ground, guiltily.

"It's okay, babe. I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I'm sorry." Jeremy said wrapping his arms around me as I looked up to him and gave him a small smile. I let go of him as he went to fetch us some drinks.

I stood there for a while leaning against the wall as I waited for Jeremy to come back. I then got frustrated and decided to look around as I grabbed my purse and headed towards the kitchen to grab a drink myself where I saw Jeremy making out with a redhead with glasses. Expected.

I walked out of the backdoor into a garden of sorts. There were a few people there. Some smoking, some just standing and admiring the full moon and some making out with their partners.

I sat on the end of the steps in the corner as I sipped my drink. It tasted like mint and vodka. I just stared at the full moon as I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I grabbed it and unlocked it before checking the text I'd received.

I'm sorry for messaging you again. Just wanted to say that I have some stuff of yours. Was wondering if you want it back. -Nick

I read the message as I shivered, the cool night breeze making tiny hair on my bare arms and legs stand up.

Throw it away. I don't want it. -Kayla

I replied as an unwanted tear escaped my eye, making it's way down my cheek. I hastily wiped it away, gulping down my drink completely. I got up unsteadily to get another drink when I locked eyes with someone. He stared intently back into my eyes as I did the same. We were close, so close. Our lips were almost brushing. He looked at my lips before looking away from me and walking past me, swiftly running back up the steps into the house. I could officially say that I'd met Jai Brooks.
