After Briar met Nagisa's mom, Nagisa and Briar decided to try and work on their homework, but soon got sidetracked when Briar suggested they play some video games.

"I totally pulverized you!" Briar said punching Nagisa on the shoulder. They were playing Mortal Combat and Briar had just defeated Nagisa with some kind of Scorpion thing she cant remember the name of.

"AWWWW no fair! my penguin was so just about to get you!" Nagisa complained. Briar looked at the time on the screen.

"Crap it's 7:00. Well, i gotta go Nagisa see you a school tomorrow. Briar said doing Dan's "Hello Internet" wave signal.

"Wait Briar!"

"What's up Nagi?"

"I was wondering if you're all right after-"

"Yeah I'm fine." Briar said a little more coldy than she meant to. She sighed and murmered "Another day Nagisa."

She went out the door, leaving a confused Nagisa behind.

Briar hummed a ryhtemless tune. On the way home. It was a 5 minute walk from Nagisa's house to hers.
She passed an alley. It was the same one she saw those shining eyes at.
She peered into it, but sighed and turned when she didn't see anything.
"Mrrow?"
Briar turned in surprise to see a small light ginger kitten with light brown paws. It only looked around 3 weeks old.
Briar retraced her steps back to the alley and approached the kitten warily. It flinched a little as her hand came closer to its face. She retracted her hand and dug inside her book bag for her leftover lunch. She pulled it out and smiled as the kitten sniffed curiously at it. She opened it to reveal a cold piece if chicken in a ziplock bag, a half full bottle of water, and a lonely piece of celery.
She tore of a piece of chicken off and held it out to the kitten. It room it gingerly from her hand a scarfed it down.
"Mrrow." The kitten meowed, rubbing it's head against Briar's hand. She stroked it's back and it purred loudly.
Briar smiled and picked it up. It shows no resistance.
Briar took it home and set it down. She found out it was a girl after she picked it up. She got out an old cat bowl with a fish on it, and got another matching one.
She write a name in sharpie on the fish.
"Rose"
