Monday and school. My two most hated words, and both of these words are being applied in my life today. It's Monday therefore I have school. Great. I got ready, I did my hair and makeup, packed my cheerleaders uniform. I heard Jesse honk is car horn. I left home without saying bye to dad as he's probably still sleeping. I got in Jesse's car and we drove to school with the radio on. The hosts would not shut up, I listen to the radio to listen to music not to hear some unfunny people blab on. But Jesse loved it so I pretended to as well so he wouldn't feel obliged to change the channel.
We arrived on time. To be honest I really liked Mount View High. The teachers are great and practically everyone is friendly, even when I was an outcast it wasn't like I got bullied. I just didn't have any friends... So anyway, today wasn't that bad of a day considering I had two study periods and one of them synced with Jesse so that was gonna be nice. I walked to my locker saying hi to all my friends. I shut my locker and there, right in my face is Caroline.
"Hey hey sunshine." She said cheerfully.
Caroline Thomas is one of the most gorgeous girls ever. She's tall and slim with long red hair and she's always such a delight to be around. I guess I did always have one friend, that was Caroline. We've known each other since elementary and we've been friends ever since. She was so happy when Jesse and I got together, like ecstatic, probably happier than I was at the time.
"Morning." I say as we walk together in sync to our first class, biology.
"How was your weekend?" She said teasing me, but I just played coy.
"It was good, yours?"
"Oh come on Brit, just tell me! Was he good? Did you like it?" She said stopping me and looking me in the eye.
"Yes and yes. Ready for class?" I asked carrying on.
"That's all I need to know for now, but I will get the details from you one way or another. And no I am never ready for biology with Ms Griffiths ugghh." Ms G was pretty awful. She was just one of those grumpy teachers who just get angry at the slightest of things, but she knew her stuff.
We walked into bio and sat down at our usual seats next to each other. Ms Griffiths was sitting in her chair looking at us like we were the scum of the earth, I knew it was because we were late, by 1 minute. 60 seconds and it's put her in a mood. I just looked at her nonchalantly, I could tell she was waiting for an apology but she didn't deserve one so I didn't give it to her. She checked the roll then began her lesson.
"So today we are starting our assignment on antibiotic resistance, so you and your partner will critique three articles, write a report for each one, then write an essay on whether or not you think antibiotic resistance is an issue or not. Any questions?"
"How long do we have to complete the assignment?" Caroline asked.
"Three weeks from today. Anyone else?" She asked.
"Do we get to choose our partners?" Danny Vega asked.
"Yes you are allowed to choose who you work with, choose wisely as this will count for 50% of your grade." She said.
Caroline and I immediately looked at each other. I didn't even have to think, Caroline is brilliant, AP everything, and she's my best friend it's gonna be great.
The day was fine but finally it was lunch. I met Caroline at my locker so we could walk to the cafeteria together.
"I don't know, I was thinking of going with Bailey but I have no idea." Caroline said in regards to junior prom.
"It's easy for you, you've already got a man."
"Well it's not like it's my thing." I said.
"It is now, Jesse is one hundred and ten percent gonna get prom king, therefore you will most probably be queen. So you have to go." She said as a matter of factly as we were getting our food.
"Me? Prom queen? No no no. That'll be you Car, everyone has known it's gonna be you since freshman year, since middle school even. Me dating Jesse does not mean anything." I say as we make our way to our table.
"I dunno B, people love you, so I'm just not gonna be too shocked if you get the award." I just roll my eyes, I would feel so bad if I got prom queen. Caroline has wanted it since she was a little girl. Who am I to take that from her?
I sat down next to Jesse and gave him a kiss. He put his arm around me.
"Hey babe." He said to me.
"Hey. We have a free period next together." I say reminding him.
"Yussss! What do you wanna do?" He sounded relieved.
"I don't care you choose, but I gotta be here after school, I got cheer practice."
"Sure thing." He said smiling at me with food in his mouth. I hit him playfully on the chest.
"You're gross." I say laughing.
"He can't be that gross." Caroline laughed. I just looked at her in amused shock. Eli laughed, Jesse's best friend.
"Yea, I heard you had a pretty great weekend Brit." Eli said. I just squinted at him and did a fake laugh.
"Oh great." Jesse says.
"What?" I ask him, he sounded annoyed. Then I saw it. Or saw him. Grayson Anderson. Jesse hates his guts, I don't know why. He's your stereotypical, cliché badboy. He gets into all sorts of trouble, he's a huge a player and extremely good looking. He never usually comes to the cafeteria at lunch, I wonder why today.
"That guy is a huge asshole." Jesse said death glaring at him.
"A freakishly good looking asshole." Caroline said, I laughed.
"Come on Jess, why do you hate him so much?" I asked.
"Don't worry about it. I gotta go." He said leaving, he was angry. Well I guess I was gonna have to study this period now that Jesse isn't taking me anywhere.
"Can you tell us why he hates Blake?" I asked Eli.
"Nope." He said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because... I don't know." Weird, I wonder what Grayson did. I mean it can't be because he's a player, I mean Jesse himself is a bit of a ladies man so that wouldn't make any sense. Obviously Blake did something.
