Gladia.

The the land of mystical beings such as fairies, elves, dragons and goblins. It was a wondrous place filled fantastic scenery, villages and castles. The fairies and elves were protectors and guardians of Gladia. Many of the fairies looked after the nature while some became guardians who fought the goblins and Sables, fearsome creatures that were the size of a grown up bear covered in yellow fur with large fangs that dripped with deadly poison.

No creature was immune to it. One small prick of its fangs would kill a victim in seconds. Sables made good steeds to goblins but even some goblins were cautious of them. Only was person in all of Gladia could resist the poison. Renee, the fairy queen of Gladia. Although she could resist the poison and heal herself, it took too long to do so.

The queen was generous and kind and willed to help everyone. With the royal blood that coursed through her, she ruled fairly and fought bravely in order to keep evil at bay. Renee was a proclaimed beauty. The fairy's lovely blonde hair blew in the wind and her pale skin had remarkable features. Almond shaped eyes with dreamy eyelashes that had blue eyes seeking under them. Her full lips sang melodious tunes and songs and above there was a perfect slender nose. Now, among their kind it wasn't like one must marry a person of the same rank. Anyone could love freely and one day decide whether they would marry. This applied to the queen too. She was free to love and that.... that was why she waited for true love.

Renee's real name was Kath. Renee was the name that was given when she ascended throne. Kath had been made queen at the age of 11. Her parents died in terrible battle. The battle of darkness and light. The light was lead by King Rian and Queen Juliana, parents of Kath and the dark was led by Gruyamore, king of goblins and his minions. They rode on Sables charging at everyone. Queen Juliana created a barrier all over the town whereas the the elves created their own barrier for their village. Magic spheres flew in the air and battles of flight ensued. King Rian's magic sword destroyed a whole batch of goblins guarding Gruyamore. However, the goblin king just smiled and drew out his staff. A fierce battle went on and on. Juliana tried to destroy the archers but they were gaining the upper hand. The arrows whizzed here and there. The tips of the arrows were dipped in sable poison which made them deadly.

The light slowly started to lose.

King Rian was thrown back a few feet due to a magic blast that emanated out of Gruyamore's staff. Elves went backups while the Queen flew towards her King hand helped him up. Both of them stared at the bloodshed that was made. Tears streaked Juliana's beautiful face. Both of them shared looks.

Sacrifice. It was for the best. The King and the Queen held hands and began to chant words so ancient that they began to glow. Arrows, spears weapons froze in midair.  Poor Kath watched her parents fight from afar. Tears fell down uncontrollably from her eyes. Her mother and father looked at her at her sadly.

'We love you Kathy.' Their voices rang in her head. She burst out of the barrier only to be held back by an elderly elf.

"Don't Kath!"

A brilliant flash blinded them all an they opened their eyes to see hundreds of small spheres flying towards the heavens. They were soul spheres. The King and queen purified every single thing in their path. All the minions were nearly obliterated except a few that were fatally wounded were slowly being purified until there was nothing left of them. However Gruyamore wasn't dead. He was fatally injured, convulsing violently and uttering inaudible words until he was completely silenced by a blast of light thrown at him by the elderly elf, Sabe.

He disintegrated completely leaving no trace of him. The barrier faded and folk came out too amazed to speak. Everyone was solemn and stood quietly with their hands folded. The evil was obliterated and peace spread. Renee didn't know what to do now. There was no one to rule Gladia. Suddenly a soothing sensation spread in her mind and lulled the young fairy to sleep.

She woke up with a start to see Sabe sitting beside her. Sabe was a powerful elf who was loyal friend to her parents from the start. A long beard fell from his chin and his sunken eyes showed weariness as he read a scroll.

"Master Sabe, how long have I been asleep?" Asked Kath.

"Two days" He answered in his deep voice without looking up. Then he continued sensing her expression of shock. "You needed it Kathy."

Tears began brim in her eyes once again until Sabe said

"Don't you cry child. Your parents, they were brave and saved all of us and you. Kath your parents don't want you to be sad. They want you to be happy and be at peace. You must learn to let go... The King and Queen were our rulers but now you are the one who should lead us. Be strong Kathy."

"I'm only 11 Master Sabe!" Kath exclaimed. "You have no choice Princess." Sabe left no room for argument.

"Evren, the leader of elves will rule for five months. In that duration, I will teach you how to be a ruler and powerful magic user. Sword-wielding and learning the philosophies will help you to be an excellent ruler Kath. You are a determined child and I know that you will succeed."

After five months, the coronation day came and Kath attained the name of Queen Renee, The ruler of Gladia. Kneeling in front of her parent's grave, she gave her oath.

"I, Queen Renee of Gladia shall rule fairly and equally. I shall protect Gladia from evil with  with my life and fight till my last breath. This I promise to the people, the rulers of the past and to you my Parents, King Rein and Queen Juliana, our brave rulers who are in peace. With this, I rise and willingly accept the position of Queen to rule Gladia."

She placed a bouquet of roses on each grave and faced her people with with confidence. From that day on Renee ruled as just she promised. Fairly, equally and courageously.

The young queen glided happily and peacefully in fields of gold and silver grass, ruminating and imagining her one week of break. A little rest always rejuvenated the queen. However all her ruminations were disturbed when a brown-haired creature fell face -first on the grass by appearing out of nowhere.
