"It is getting dark" Kath noticed and told William. The navy blue strip of the sky was slowly spreading as the golden shades of the sun gave away to show the silvery face of the moon.
"You are right. I must go." William was about to turn when he looked at her. "How ?"
Renee shrugged. "I don't know but probably the portal will show itself when it's time"
She said.
"Until then stay at my palace, my people would be glad to see someone like you."
However, William politely refused her invitation saying that he didn't want to create an commotion but however hard the fairy tried he wouldn't come.
"All right, if that's you wish. There is a comfortable cottage in the forest not too far from from my kingdom, you can easily find your way if you get lost by coming to us."///////////////////////
William did need a place to stay otherwise he wouldn't have shelter. So he followed her, walking briskly as Kath's flying seemed to be a bit fast. She slowed her speed for him after realising that he was getting tired.
The two of them reached a beautiful cottage. The cottage was a medium sized one and it's sloping roof had a chimney while ivy adorned the pillars of the cottage. Flowers pots were kept on the windowsills and even the windows were oddly shaped. The were oval shaped. Other than that, A garden with blooming flowers like roses, daisies and violets grew there with a small pond that had lilies shyly lifting their heads. A well filled with water was there to support his daily needs.
"Is it okay?" Kath asked.
He gave his answer. "It's perfect."Kath and William went inside to explore the rooms. This quaint place was small but cosy. A funny kitchen that had shelves with sturdy vials made out of petals with a wood lid. All of them were different colours and a table that was circular with tiny pearl borders all around stood in the centre of the room with four chairs. The next room was the living room or the gathering hall as Kath called it.
Most of the place was made out of wood and some ivy grew on the walls. The sofas were made out of soft green moss covered with a silky soft fabric and tiny flowers decorated the lower part of the sofas. A round table that was presumably made out of a dark green stone that lines of wood twisting and intersecting that had pearls of every point. William asked Kath whether they drink tea or not.
"We drink rose tea. Water mixed with extract of rose and cherry juice added with some sugar. I'll bring some tomorrow."
The bedroom consisted of a small bed made of something white but very soft. It was rabbit moss, a certain type of moss that grew in the north. The window kept the room cool. The bathroom; he explored it on his own. A porcelain bowl with a fountain that had pink flowers floating in it. A bucket with a mug was there. All the basic need s for a good bath were lined up on the shelves.
The biggest room was the library. A cosy room whose shelves filled books of history, philosophy and stories were arranged in a semicircle in the middle along with a sofa that was near a fireplace.
"Kath, I can't thank you enough for this. You have given a place to stay. Thank you." He said gratefully.
"Don't mention it. I love to help my friends." She waved her hand.
The fairy queen called him a friend. He stared at her and she stopped her tinkling laughter and smiled sweetly.
"You are my new friend William"/////////////////////////
Kathy told him that it was time to go since it was getting dark. Before she went the young man gently took her hand and kissed the back of it. It was just a brush but that sent fleeting feelings flying through her. "Good night Your Majesty."
His soft voice made her feel slightly dizzy yet happy.
There was the crystal palace and the fairy village in front of it. The fairy village was big. Most of the houses were made out of wood or stone. The wood houses had sloping roofs and small flowers grew here and there on it. Stone houses were cylindrical with cone tops. Shops were scattered here and each having a dirt path in front them that led to village. Majority of their land was covered in grass with a few rocks scattered so that one could sit on them. Some of the houses were tiny and made on trees. They were tiny helper who would aide in tailoring or herbs. Although these class of fairies were small, they were very useful.
Finally the Crystal Palace stood there in all it's majestic glory as it glowed in the moonlight.Inside, it was place with white floor with a few designs and smooth with springs of ivy circling it and the walls were of violet or navy blue. The throne room, however that a golden-yellow colour to the walls. The one that indicated royalty. Golden chandeliers lighted the place and the fairy lamps added more to it's beauty. Queen's throne was made up of crystal that had flowers growing over it. It was a pretty sight to see with huge Windows carved allowing fresh air to come through.
Minister's chairs too were arranged to vertical rows.
Sometimes, the castle made Kath dizzy but she got used to it. Most of it was empty but Sabe stood there waiting for her.
"Kath, I was worried about you. Where have you been?"
"Master Sabe, you worry too much sometimes. I was in the field of gold and Silver grass. I'm enjoying my two-week vacation." She chuckled. Sabe still argued as they went all the way to the courtyard. " You could be in danger-"
"You know quite well that I can handle myself and besides that I can send a signal too."
He stopped. She hit a point and after that the topic changed to the workings of the Kingdom."
" Your second-in command has agreed to rule as deputy for you. The report was excellent Kathy. Crops were plentiful and most the kingdom and shops are doing well. Gladia's border lines are well protected and guard duty revolves very smoothly. In other words Kath, you have ruled wonderfully."
Kath smiled and said
"I know. How are elves?"
"Yes, they have been fine. Do you know Evren is getting married?" Sabe said and handed her a scroll.
"He is! Amazing and Evren is marrying Alyssa, the beautiful elf who is a farmer's daughter. Wonderful!" She read the scroll and exclaimed in joy.
"Kathy, what about you?" The elf asked softly and looked at her. She immediately stopped her laughter and looked back at him with a dazed look.
"I don't know Master. But I'm waiting for that to happen. Finding true love, I want to marry when he comes."
" Who?" Sabe questioned
"The Right one." Kath answered.///////////////////
