Renee immediately flew high in the air, taking a defensive stance with her fingers curled around the hilt of her  sword and hand ready shoot out any amount of magic at the opponent. What she saw completely amused her. It was dressed in odd clothes that seemed to be made up of a different material. It wasn't elf and the creature seemed to be confused at it's surroundings as if it had never seen this place before.
'He must be a fairy somehow but...'
The creature immediately drew out a dagger and whipped around only to see Renee throw a small orb of magic at him. It had less energy in it. That simple attack threw him several feet away. Renee guessed that it didn't posses a single bit of magic in itself. The queen cautiously walked towards it landing on the ground next to him.
She gasped for she was taken away by the beauty in front of her. He resembled fairies but had no wings. He had slightly ruffled brown hair and dirt splattered on his pale skin. His eyes opened and Renee noticed that they were the prettiest eyes she had ever seen. She stared and him and he stared at her. A small sentence from her broke the deafening silence.
"What are you?"

William heard the sentence from the beautiful fairy's lips.
"What are you?"
It struck him that she must have never seen a human in her life. He knew about fairies but he never knew that he would see them in real life. She bent down to help him by holding his hand. Her hand was cool and soft, holding gentleness as she helped him up. He better speak otherwise she would think he was mute.
"I'm a human." William said.
The fairy glided a bit backwards letting go of his hand. Her wings shimmered as she did so. William felt confused. Were they scared of them?
'I don't think so' He thought. She had that spark confidence in her eyes but now they held wonder.
"Are you scared of a human? If you are then I assure you that we don't possess a single bit of magic." He gave a small smile.

It seemed like an eternity until she spoke "We are not afraid of them because we have never seen one. So very little is heard and one can't help be a little cautious."

"What is your name?" She asked him.

"My name's William. And yours?"

"Renee but you can call me Kath" She said softly as his hand held hers once more.

/////////////////////////

'William' It was a very queer name to say. There was something mesmerising about him and she silently gasped when the human held her hand.

"Where am I?" William asked.

"You are in Gladia. A world filled with magic and wonders." Kath said proudly
"Where are  you from?" She questioned.

"Weston, our kingdom whose inhabitants are humans. I'm the royal Prince of Weston." He said and huffed out the words 'royal Prince' out of irritation.

He was Prince. No wonder with those fancy clothes he did seem like a Prince. There were topics of introduction about each other.

"Prince, I'm Queen Renee, the ruler of Gladia."

The man's eyes widened a little bit and quickly let go of her her hand. She couldn't help feel a bit disappointed. William bowed before her "Your Majesty" he said apologetically. He took his curtsy kindly but she didn't get the apologetic tone. Kath forgot about it after a few moments. He was from a different world after all. Then she had this all sudden urge to know more about this human world.

Both of them sat on the grass and talked leisurely about their worlds. He was absolutely surprised when she said that was 90 years old. Then Kath explained to him that they age slower than humans so he had slowly digested that fact. However, when a certain topic about his family came into picture she was shocked. Kath asked him why he didn't want to return to his family

"I don't feel like going back because my mom, she restrains me a lot. I don't get why it's like that. Kath, I want to know the outside world so that after I become King I could rule well yet my mother stops and says that I ignore my studies and lessons. I got angry at her and shouted. We both had an argument. I ran out to the gardens and leaned against a wall that led me here." The Prince explained sadly.

"William, have you ever talked to your mother about this in a calmer voice with all the reasons you were going there?" Renee looked at him.

William's raised his head, pondering about the question she asked. He never spoke to his mother in a soft voice and never stated the reasons. All he did was complain about her restraint and showed anger that may have made her shout but deep inside she would be sad. William's mother loved him and all that she wanted was to see him as a good King who ruled his people fairly. She did that for love.

"A tear fell unconsciously down his cheek and he wiped it away quickly. "No" He said.

"That's sad William but don't worry you can always make things right by talking to her." The gentle queen smiled.
Kath was right. He could and his mother may forgive him for his wrong attitude towards her but it was worth trying.

"Kath, you made feel happy once again. Thank you!" He hugged her. She stiffened at his hug but relaxed at returned it comfortably.
