"Dark Daggers!" Alethra shouted. Dark Daggers flew towards the Peryton. The Peryton kicked off of the ground, it's wings flapping hard. It soared high above in the sky. Alethra squinted her eyes, the sun was in her eyes and she could barely make out the shape swooping down towards her. Alethra's eyes widened. The Peryton was coming towards her! Alethra dove out of the way, but the Peryton had already figured out that Alethra would move, so it veered to the right, smacking into Alethra and sending her sprawling to the ground. Alethra coughed. The creature was already back in the sky, flapping it's wings hard. The wind from the wings pushed down on Alethra, not letting her get up. Alethra glanced up in panic. The Peryton dropped into a dive, it's wings folded up against its body. Alethra bit her lip. She would never make it away in time! Alethra glanced to her right, her eyes stopping on her sword. It was about six feet away. Alethra reached out her arm desperately, trying her best to grab the sword.

The Peryton was getting closer and closer. It was nearly twenty feet away! Alethra reached in vain, urgently wriggling her body towards the sword. Peryton was closing in fast. Too fast. Alethra grunted, trying her best to reach her sword. And then Peryton was upon her, and it's antlers scooped up Alethra before throwing her into the air. "Ahhh!" Alethra screamed, her voice loud as well as high-pitched. Anyone else would have begun laughing at the sight. Alethra screamed, her arms and legs flailing madly in the air. Alethra crashed onto something, knocking the air out of her. Alethra flipped off of her back, discovering that she was now on the back of Peryton. Peryton's deer-like mouth curved slightly upwards in a smile.

Alethra narrowed her eyes. The crazy animal was making fun of her! And Alethra hated that. Alethra jumped, grabbing on to the end of Peryton's right wing. The Peryton swerved to the right wildly with Alethra hanging off of the wing. "You fool. Get off or we'll both crash!" The Peryton yelled in a panic. Alethra smiled. The ground was nearly thirty feet away. "I'm counting on it." Alethra confidently responded.

The Peryton's eyes widened in fear. "Get off!" It shouted, trying to shake Alethra off of her wing. Alethra smiled. "If you say so!" She yelled happily. Alethra jumped off of the creature's back and came hurtling into a tree, crashing onto a branch. The Peryton screeched out of fear as it was about to crash. It tried in vain to fly back into the sky, but it was too late.

BAAAAAAM!

Dirt flew everywhere as the heavy creature hit the ground. Peryton stood up, shaking off all of the dust that coveted it's body. It's eyes were blazing a bloodthirsty red, and they locked eyes on Alethra. Peryton slowly walked over to the tree Alethra was in. "You will pay for this foolish mortal." It quietly responded, outraged.

Alethra smiled. "If you mean 'pay' as in I will become your master, then I'm cool with that." She teased, brushing herself off. The creature stomped it's foot before flying into the air at an amazing speed. It flew in a spirl, drawing air towards itself. Alethra's eyes widened as she found it hard to breath. The creature was taking the air around them! Alethra coughed, grabbing her throat in vain. She couldn't breath!

Peryton laughed. "You brag so foolishly as if you will not fail. And now mortal, you have done just that!" Peryton shouted.

Alethra's vision began to go black and fuzzy, and her eyes became heavy. 'No...' She thought 'I can't... lose...' Alethra grabbed a tree branch, and threw it, the air sucking it towards Peryton. It smacked Peryton, causing it to lose all concentration. The air was returned, and Alethra gasped before coughing. She breathed in the air as if it were the last thing that she'd ever do. Peryton silently gazed upon Alethra in shock as well as hatred. Alethra rose to her feet, locking eyes with Peryton. "I don't know about you," She breathed heavily, "But I'd say that I'm doing rather well." She said to the beast.

Peryton narrowed it's eyes coldly, and for the first time, it's mouth had opened. Alethra would've questioned it out of curiosity but...

"GYAHHHHHHH!" The creature screamed angrily. Alethra winced, clamping her hands over her ears. The creature flew towards her and kickes her out of the tree. Alethra screamed as she fell from the tree. Her bacl hit the ground, and once again she was gasping for air. Alethra grunted in pain. But then, a small smile spread across her lips. Right in front of her lay her sword! Alethra grabbed it, and stood up, searching the premises. But the Peryton was no where to be seen. Alethra turned in a slow circle, trying hard to find any sign of the creature. Suddenly the creature shot out of the trees like lightning, but this time it looked different. The creature's antlers glowed blue, and swirls of gold were beautifully patterned in swirls on them as well. The Peryton's eyes blazed gold, and the wings looked as if they had grown twice as large.

The creature moved in a blur, even faster than before. It crashed into Alethra, sending her flying backwards, Alethra hit the trunk of a tree. The tree crackled, the wood beginning to break. The Peryton was back once again, flying towards Alethra. Alethra's eyes widened and she quickly pointed her sword in front of her. The Peryton noticed the movement immediately and circled around Alethra and the tree.

CRAAAAAACK!

The Peryton broke threw the tree from behind, sending Alethra flying once again. "Argh!" She cried out in pain as she was sent skidding onto the floor. Alethra looked up. The Peryton was right there, and it was fully ready to deliver the final blow. Alethra stood, bringing her sword up once more. The creature fell to the floor with a thud. Peryton's glowing eyes locked with Alethra's once again before the creature turned to pixels. Alethra breathed deeply. She dropped her sword tiredly, her eyes locked on the small golden soul stone that was glowing brightly right at her feet. Alethra bent down, and grabbed the object. In two seconds it disappeared and was replaced with a small notification that read 'new item acquired: Peryton's soul stone'

"You have proved me wrong. You truly are interesting... master." Peryton whispered to Alethra quietly.

Alethra exited out of the notification, her eyes wide in disbelief. She had done it. She had defeated Peryton! Alethra smiled, sinking to her knees in complete exhaustion. She looked up at the sky, her eyes full of determination. "I'm coming Amy." She whispered quietly. She rose to her feet once again and grabbed her sword before running into the forest once more.
