[ Harry ]
As soon as the door chimes go off, Elli is gone from my sight. She sprints up to the front of the store to see whose arrived.
"Are you a princess?" I hear Elli gasp as I make my way through the boxes in the back.
There's a light laugh that fills the air. "No, but you must be!"
I recognized that voice, and it clicked. I climb over the heavy storage and stumble out of the doorway.
There she is, the woman who has captivated my thoughts ever since I saw her last. Her dark hair was curled at the tips, leaving it wavy and shoulder length. She wore a Friends t-shirt and tight black jeans that hugged her curves in the best of ways. She looks up at me and her red lips pull into a smile when our eyes meet.
"Hi," I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding.
"Daddy!" Elli makes her presence known again by giggling and running behind the counter to me.
"Hey pumpkin," I smile, picking her up off the ground.
I turn to the woman who's cheeks are a light shade of pink and already has her eyes on me. "I hope my daughter didn't startle you," I say after a moment of silence.
She shakes her head, a firm smile on her plump lips. "Not at all, she's so cute."
"Thank!" Elli grins at her with glee.
"What's her name?" The woman asks, walking over to the counter.
"Elli," I breathe out, she is even more beautiful up close.
"Hi Elli, I'm Nicole."
Nicole, I wouldn't have guessed that to be her name.
"Hi Nicwole!" Elli giggles loudly, very happy to have made a new friend.
"What's your dad's name, Elli?" Nicole questions, smirking slightly at me.
"Harry, um, Harry Styles." I answer for Elli, who stares at me in confusion.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Styles." Nicole grins, small dimples poking in her cheeks.
"Nice to meet you too, Nicole." I reply with my own grin.
Elli starts to get fussy, so I place her back on the floor where she runs into the back room for her toys.
"How old is she?" Nicole asks.
"She's about to be three in a couples months." I say, wondering how the time flew by so fast.
"Wow, she's talking so well too," Nicole adds.
"I try my best, since it's just Elli and I, it's really hard to take the proper time to teach her things." I explain.
"Her mothers not around?" Nicole's eyebrows furrow together in concern and curiosity.
Instead of explaining the whole situation, I just shake my head. "We get by just fine though."
"You're a great father, most men I know would just give up and throw out the child- not that, oh god, not that I know a lot of men- oh shit, I mean crap!" Nicole's cheeks are full on red now with embarrassment. She covers her face in shame and laughs at herself.
I chuckle, lightly pulling her hands away from her face. "I know what you meant, and thank you. I feel like I'm making her life worse by trying to be both parents and struggling with one job."
Nicole smiles at me, her face still red. "If you want, I can help look after her."
"I'd need to get to know you first, let's say over coffee?" I smirk.
Nicole's eyes widen and her face remains rosey red before nodding.
"I'll need your number, love." I chuckle, glad I actually asked her out.
"Oh, um, right," she stutters and gives me her number.
"Okay, thanks." I save her number into my phone and place it in my pocket before smiling at her again.
"Well, I have to go now, I'll see you later Harry." Nicole grins and leaves the store after waving goodbye.
I do a small snoopy dance behind the counter, so happy I got her number and a date. I almost forget Elli in the back until I hear a crash.
"I'm okay!" Elli laughs before I return to my snoopy happy dance.
Life couldn't get any better than this.
