The Love Story Of Brad + Riley

Chapter 5

The second to last year of high school has finally arrived! Riley was so excited that she got accepted into the best music school in the country! But Brad wasn't because he wanted Riley to stay in Miami with him for college. Riley sees her best friend, Taylor, coming to talk to her. She hugs Taylor tightly and tells her the great news, that she told Brad. 

(Riley) Taylor, do you know that best music school in New York I wanted to go to after I graduate?

(Taylor) Yeah!

(Riley) They accepted me!

While they hug, Riley pauses for a moment.

(Riley) Taylor, they said that I have to leave after junior year and I will have to graduate high school early and then I can go to New York for music school?

(Taylor) What did Brad say after he heard that you got into the music school? Did you tell him that?

Riley cries.

(Riley) Brad told me that he wants me to stay with him in Miami, so him and I can be together. He's happy for me but he doesn't want me to go and I haven't told him yet.

(Taylor) Riley, I'll be here whenever you need me. Tell him before it's too late!

Riley and Taylor hug.

(Riley) Thank you, Taylor! I'll see you later.

Riley walks away. Jordan walks up against Riley.

(Jordan) Riley! I'm so sorry!

(Riley) Sorry for what, Jordan?

(Jordan) I'm sorry for cheating on you with Taylor and with another girl at the same time. Can you ever take me back?

(Riley) Jordan, I can't take you back.

(Jordan) Why not?

(Riley) Because you cheated on me and you promised me you wouldn't cheat on me with any of my best friends or with any girl. You don't know how much it hurts me to get my heart broken and then a new guy picks up all the pieces and puts it back together again. I forgave Taylor because she's my best friend, but I can't forgive you for what you did.

Riley walks away, crying. Brad sneaks up behind Riley. 

(Brad) Hey!

(Riley) Hey!

Brad takes Riley's hand and sees that she's upset.

(Brad) Riles, what's wrong? Did something happen between you and your ex, Jordan?

Riley nods her head.

(Brad) What did he say?

(Riley) He admitted to me that he broke our promise he and I made while he and I were together.

(Brad) What was the promise?

Riley reads the promise Jordan wrote to her. 

(Riley) He promised me that he wouldn't cheat on me with any of my best friends or with any other girl. He's your best friend, go talk to him.

(Brad) I will. No one messes with my girlfriend!

Brad kisses Riley, they walk away and Brad finds Jordan.

(Brad) Jordan!

Jordan turns around and sees Brad.

(Jordan) Brad!

(Brad) Why did you admit to Riley that you broke the promise you made with her?

(Jordan) Because I wanted a fun girl, who was energetic to be with me and I cheated on her with Taylor.

Jordan admits.

(Brad) Dude, Taylor is her best friend and my ex-girlfriend and why did you do that?

(Jordan) Riley wasn't the perfect girl for me!

Jordan admits for the second time.

(Brad) So let me get this straight. You cheated on Riley with Taylor, because Riley wasn't the perfect girl for you?

(Jordan) Yeah.

Jordan admits for the third time in a row. Brad walks away to go find Riley.
