Music should not be subjective topic constantly debated upon. People have different tastes in music and they are allowed to have their opinions on what type of music they like. Each person has a different perspective on music and your opinion on music should not be based on the influence on what others have to say.

Songs by Meghan Trainor- yes, I understand some people are offended by the context of words she uses in her song," All About The Bass," but people who are so against her music. Meghan Trainor is simply expressing her art. I'm not just defending Meghan Trainor, but all artists. Why do you people care so much about someone else's voice and music? If you don't like it, why bother expressing it. Meghan Trainor tells some truth in," All About The Bass," such as the phrase," I see the magazine working that Photoshop. We know that shit ain't real, come on now, make it stop." Most magazines and advertisements use Photoshop to change the way their models look in order to fit what society views as "perfection." And all throughout the song- yes Meghan Trainor may be making fun of skinny people but in the line,"No, I'm just playing, I know you think you're fat. But I'm here to tell you. Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top," she's telling you the reality of anorexia and how some skinny people act and she's telling you that you are perfect the way you are. What's wrong with that?

Other songs such as "I Just Had Sex," by The Lonely Island (Feat Akon). Who wants to know about someone's sex life, exactly what, when, where and who you had sex with? I'm not against sex or making love however, you are broadcasting it to the world. Who cares? I don't dig into people's sex life and I really don't want to know how "good" it feels to be inside someone's vagina. The phrase," having sex can make a nice man out of the meanest," what are these words referring to? Sex changes a person? Because a relationship shouldn't be based on sex and this could also refer to domestic violence. And just because you totally cannot live without sex for the rest of your life, you had to write a song about that.

Children's songs such as "Ten Little Indians," are they appropriate for children? This song is practically telling children that anytime that they see "Indians," that they refer to them as such. And the point of this is, "Indians live in INDIA." The proper term for the Native Peoples is either First Nations or the Aboriginals. I find this song offensive towards the Aboriginal communities. This is only a basic example of how racism can start, if you let it.

I understand each person has a different opinion on what they like and dislike. I respect people's decisions but insulting each artists' music, how do people express themselves? Music is an art and people are incredibly subjective towards music. Music is only another way to express how people are feeling, through their voice. The pace, tempo and dynamics play a part in expressing how the artist feels. I don't see people making a giant commotion about people who express their feelings through visual arts, why does music have this? You might argue with why the artist used these specific colours or why they made; let's say a banana- their focus. Music has been integrated into many things in today's currently society.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, openly telling everyone you dislike this particular song, why bother? Music is an expression of who you are depending on the context taken. Maybe you don't like this particular song but I do and you need to respect that, not just saying,"oh it has a shitty tune." If you don't like this song or artist, don't listen. Nobody asked you to.
