Chapter 23: Christmas Eve Gift Exchange

It was Christmas Eve! Everyone was spending Christmas together because all the flights have been booked. Tonight, they were having a Christmas party at Winter's apartment.

" I'm so happy we're all spending Christmas together!" Peter exclaimed.

" I know!" Daniel replied.

" What should we do first while the adults are doing toasts and drinking champagne?" Pauline asked.

" What about a gift exchange?" Hannah asked.

" Why don't we save that for later?" Marylee asked.

" Well, if we do it later, I'm going to keep thinking about it throughout the party. If we do it now, it won't be the only thing that goes through my mind," Hannah explained.

" Guys, Hannah's right! We should do the gift exchange now! But we should open the gifts that are from each other, not from our parents because I want to open the ones from my parents tomorrow morning along with other stuff from my family," Brianna said.

" I was going to say the same exact thing," Marylee yelled.

The kids went to the living room to get the gifts.

" Now kids, what do you're think you're doing?" Mo asked.

" We're doing a gift exchange, dad," Daniel replied.

" Why are you doing that now? Aren't you going to do that tomorrow?" Mo asked.

" Well, tomorrow we're all going caroling with friends of Pauline's. They invited us," Hannah replied.

Mo nodded his head.

" You guys are going caroling? Pauline, aren't you going to open the gifts that your father, aunt Winter and I got you that morning?" Noel asked in concern.

" We're not going until 1! Of course I'll open your presents tomorrow! I'll have a lot of time doing do!" Pauline replied.

" Okay, I'm just asking. Are you guys going to open presents?"

" Yes Noel, but from each other!" Brianna replied.

The kids ran to Winter's office since she let them hang out in there before their parents asked anymore questions.

" Okay, who's opening first?" Peter asked.

" Let's do this youngest to oldest! So Peter, hoe about you?" Daniel replied.

Peter shrugged as he started opening his gifts. From Tyrell, he got some new cleats. From Hannah, he got him a Nike gift card with only $60. From Daniel, he got a new soccer ball. From Brianna, he got the Sims 4 game. Peter and Brianna have loved the Sims ever since they were much younger. king15678
From Pauline, he got some new shorts and from Marylee, he got goalie gloves.

Marylee was next. From Peter, she got a shirt that said 'Stay Strong' because he knew what Marylee went through at school. From Brianna, she got the Anastasia Sugar Glow Kit. From Daniel, she got some bracelets. From Hannah, she got red nail polish. From Tyrell, she got a new violin song book. And from Pauline, she got a few scrunchies.

Hannah went after. From Brianna, she got the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. From Tyrell, she got a necklace with her birthstone on it. From Marylee, she got a record player with some vintage records. From Peter, she got diamond earrings and from Pauline, she got a Sephora gift card with only $70. She didn't open Daniel's gift because Daniel was going to be with her on Christmas morning, so she decided to wait until then to open his gift.

Tyrell was up. From Pauline, he got an apple watch. From Daniel, he got a baseball cap. From Brianna, he got Gucci sneakers. From Peter, he got a skateboard. From Marylee, he got some car refreshers and from Hannah, he got a new backpack.

It was now Brianna's turn to open her gifts. From Hannah, she got a Marc Jacobs backpack. From Peter, she got a fancy wallet. From Pauline, she got a Kate Spade purse. From Daniel, she got an apple watch. From Marylee, she got fuzzy socks and from Tyrell, she got a Sephora gift card with only $130.

Daniel went next. From Marylee, he got a pair of Jordan's. From Tyrell, he got 3 baseball caps. From Pauline, he got roller skates. From Peter, he got a new basket ball. From Brianna, he got a Kobe Bryant jersey. He didn't open Hannah's gift because he was going to see her tomorrow morning so he thought of waiting to open her gift then.

Pauline was last because she was the oldest. From Daniel, she got a pair of Steve Madden heels. From Brianna, she got a Chanel purse. From Peter, she got some nail polish. From Hannah, she got all the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes. From Tyrell, she got a pair of hoop earrings and from Marylee, she got white ear muffs.

Everyone loved their gifts and they thanked one another for what they got. They kids were the type of kids to be thankful for what they got. Even Brianna was too! Thank goodness Angel taught her how to act when receiving gifts because if this were Aubrey, she wouldn't be doing a good job.

" This was really nice guys! Why don't we go eat and hang out with our parents?" Hannah suggested.

" Yeah sure! First we should organize our gifts so when we leave, we don't lose or leave them," Peter said.

" Well it would be okay if I left mine here because I come here a lot. I'll still organize my gifts so no one gets mine mixed up with theirs ," Pauline said.

The kids organized their gifts and they went back to the living room to have Christmas Eve dinner and hang out with their parents.

As the got in the living room, the parents were already having dinner.

" Did you guys like the gifts you bought each other?" Emilia asked.

" Yep," the kids replied.

" Did you say thank you?" Rasa asked.

" Yep," the kids replied as they took a seat on the couch with their food.

" Guys, we have a dinner table for you guys," Lima told them.

" Oh."

The kids got up from the couch to sit at the dinner table.

" Pauline, your aunt is a good cook! This roast is good," Tyrell exclaimed still munching on some roast.

" Just so you know, it's not polite to talk with your mouthful!" Brianna warned Tyrell, but Tyrell shrugged his shoulders.

The kids and adults were eating dinner and laughing which is what families usually do when it's either Christmas Eve or Christmas. Or even both!

- Merry Christmas Eve to all those who celebrate Christmas! This book is almost done! Just two more chapters! Also, the book might not be completed on December 26 because on Christmas, I'll be spending time with my family and I'll be completely off Wattpad that day except for when I update the Christmas day chapter. That will possibly be really early in the morning or at midnight. QOTD: What are you guys doing today and tomorrow? AOTD: Today, I'm going to my older cousin's house and tomorrow i'm going to my younger cousin's house so I'm not hosting Christmas at all this year! That's it for now!
